I stepped into the chilly summer night fully and closed the door behind me. I didn't know why I couldn't sleep this night. But what confused me even more was that I somehow felt the urge to get up, throw some proper clothing over and take a night walk instead. Deep in thoughts, I walked around a corner and before I knew it, I ran into someone, catching the person in time so that we both wouldn't fall onto the ground. "I'm sorry, are you okay?", I asked worried as I put her back on her feet. My eyes widened as I recognized her. The girl from the train station. She looked stunning still, though a lot more tired now, almost as if she was struggling to get through every single day. And something else changed about her. Though not looking exactly happy whenever I saw her at the train station, she looked like something crushed her now. It sent a sharp sting to my heart seeing her like this even though I didn't know why. We weren't close after all.

She stared at me with the same wide eyes I had. Did she recognize me? "Minhyuk", she whispered and the smell of alcohol hit me. She must be tipsy. At least. "What?", I asked puzzled, flinching back as her hand reached out for my cheek. "You're... You're here?", she continued, ignoring me. She was weird. "I'm not Minhyuk", I told her. She dropped her hand that had stopped in its track ever since I flinched and instead leaned closer, inspecting my face closely. I felt uncomfortable, wanted to excuse myself and hurry away before this got even more awkward. Her head tilted and suddenly her eyes turned from curiously looking at me to resignment. "You're not Minhyuk", she repeated what I just had said. "No, I'm not, sorry", I reaffirmed it, but she already staggered away, ignoring me. I shook my head confused and wanted to move on as I saw her stepping on the street, unaware of her surroundings. I heard a car nearing. "Darn it", I hissed and sprinted to her, pulling her back and stumbling over our feet as both of us landed on the ground. The car passed us by right the next second.

Silence again as I tried to collect myself. Meanwhile, she was again staring at me with big doe eyes. She lay on top of me, breathing ironically calm which was the strong opposite of her accelerated heartbeat. None of us moved for a split second until she suddenly shifted and got off, sitting down on the sidewalk next to me. I guess her knees were too shaky to stand up yet. I propped myself up too. "You're good?", I asked the same moment she said: "Thank you." She let her fingers run through her hair. They were indeed shaky. I realized that seemingly she hadn't heard my question. I put my hand on her shoulder and she flinched. "Are you okay?", I repeated. She nodded absent-mindedly, just to let her face sink into her hands a second later and burst out into tears. This whole situation since I ran into her was too much already for me, but it just got worse. I couldn't just leave her here alone, could I? Internally sighing, I just sat next to her, waiting for her to calm down.

About twenty minutes later, I cleared my throat and it seems like she got aware of me only now again. "You're still here?", she sniffed. I nodded and shrugged. "Do you not want me to?", I gave back. This time she shrugged. "You've done enough already; you can leave. Thanks. And sorry for mistaking you with Minhyuk. It's just a striking resemblance", she mumbled, placing her head on her knees. She didn't look like she would get up soon. But at least the shock from earlier had made her become sober again. I contemplated if I should just get up and leave like she said. She had me allowed to and she also was just a random girl, a stranger that was not exactly my responsibility. A stranger I had watched every day for two years, wondering what she might be like. A helpless stranger that probably would keep me up all night if I don't leave now. But why return if I still wouldn't be able to sleep? Darn it. Goodbye sleep.

"Who even is this Minhyuk?", I asked instead. She looked at me. Different, this time. Not desperate, not in a daze from alcohol but attentive and honest. I almost flinched as I realized that I had been right back then. Her eyes could really stare right into my soul. I had never seen such deep blue eyes before. They looked so mysterious, so enigmatic, so... sad. "You really wanna know?", she gave back. I shrugged. Her voice was melodious, sounding like a song in itself, spellbinding, yet laced with resentment. I wasn't so sure if I wanted to know but I would feel even worse retreating now. I nodded. "He was my boyfriend", she said and wiped away the tears that now slowly began to dry. "Was?", I asked confused. She locked eyes with me again and something in them made me feel queasy, like when you realize the next words you hear won't be any good news. And then she began to tell me.
