𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐈 was currently sitting in bed, clothes scattered across her bedroom floor, the faint sound of taylor swift playing in the background, as she scrolled through tiktok on her phone. she always used to joke about how if she ever got cheated on or broken up with, she would only sit in her room and blast taylor swift; well, she was living up to her promises. her entire family was overboard worried about her, and she knew that, she was aware of them coming to check up on her hourly by putting their ears to the door and listening in. emma was the only one who ever actually entered the girls room, but that's only because any time mama c or mama d tried to come in, nini tried to convince them she was fine or that she just wanted to be alone. it was different with emma; emma understood her.

whilst she was scrolling up on a tiktok from her for you page, she accidentally clicked on a pending notification, not seeing whst it was before her phone beeped. "nini?" the voice croaked, and she instantly knew who it was. ricky bowen.

"u-um, hi, ricky?" nini was beyond confused as to why on earth her now ex was calling her, literally a day after admitting to cheating on her. "um, w-why are you calling, exactly?" she monotonously asked, that being the thing to stab ricky right in the heart.

"i-i know you probably don't want to t-talk to me r-right now, b-but things are r-really bad right n-now and i d-don't k-know what t-o do." now, you may think he's talking about the whole gina situation but no. ricky is talking about his parents; how he just found out his mum had been cheating on his dad for the past year or so. "m-my m-mum i-i-is c-ch-cheat-"

nini didn't care what situation they were in right now, whether he had cheated on her or not, no person deserved to go through family drama this bad ever in their life. immediately after hearing his attempt to explain to her, she shot up from her bed and rushed to get her shoes and jacket on. "i'm coming over, i don't care if gina is there or not, i'm coming to make sure you're okay." and with that, she hung up and headed towards the front door.

𝐄𝐌𝐌𝐀 heard nini running towards the front door and instantly wondered where she could be going that could be so important. "neens? where are you heading?" she asked the troubled girl, causing her to jump in her spot from fear.

"i-i'm-" she could hardly form a singld sentence. she couldn't tell emma that she was going to check up on ricky, her sister would just send her back upstairs and probably lock the door behind her. she heard her phone ping from a message from kourtney and she immediately came up with a quick and easy lie to tell. "i'm heading over to kourt's house, it started getting a little bit lonely being cooped up in my room all day." she lightly chuckled, relieved when she saw the convinced look on emma's face.

"i was guessing it would, anyways be home by 10, or 11 i can't remember what mamas always say," she laughed, her parents always gave their daughters pretty reasonable curfews considering they were teenagers, but they never cared for that stuff. if they came home at two o'clock in the morning, as long as they weren't smoking or doing drugs or anything of the sorts, they were instantly off the hook.

"will do! now bye bye em!"

𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐊𝐘 was walking on literal eggshells right now; he has never felt more empty in his life. he felt like his world was slowly caving in on him, and he was just frozen in place, allowing it to do so. he could still hear his parents arguing through the wall of his bedroom, but he didn't have the energy to get up and leave his room. that's why he called nini, he didn't give a fuck about their weird situation right now, he needed the person who he truly loved the most to be there with him, no matter how much they probably hated him right now. nini and him have been best friends since kindergarten, he couldn't bare to lose her, she was the most important person in his life and hoped it could stay that way forever.
