The picture above is what Sky would look like. Thank you for reading! Sorry if they're are any grammatical or spelling errors!

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.
I groan as my alarm goes off again. I reach the snooze button blindly, but I reach too far and fall off the bed with a THUMP. I groan something incoherent and open my eyes. Sunlight shines through my window while my alarm is still droning on and on with it's annoying beeping. I've been dreading this day for a while now. My dad thought it would be a good idea to start "curricular schooling," instead of my usual homeschooling that I got while we were traveling. My mom died when I was eight, so my dad and I were left alone to carry on the family business of traveling around the world and helping people in different countries. My dad was just offered a new promotion recently so we moved out here to LA to start a new life. My dad decided that we should move because our old house held too many memories of my mom back when she was alive. He says that going to high school is better opportunity for me, but I know that he just wants me out of the house so he can bury himself and his work once again. Luckily, our new house is in walking distance of the school. I don't want to start school, because I've read a lot of books, and the new kid always have bad things happen to them. Honestly, nothing good happens at school. I look in the mirror at myself and frown. My blonde frizzy hair is all over the place, and my braces are prominent and hurting. I've never been the girl to be popular or have loads of friends. I've had a best friend once, but when we moved away, things didn't really end very well. I get dressed in a random blue hoodie that was thrown on the pile and piles of unpacked boxes. I put on my jeans and start searching through the boxes for my favorite converse. I put those on my feet, grab my backpack and a book off the shelf. I skip every other step while I go down the stairs and then jump off, hoping to see my father. But as usual, he's in his room working on some project for his new job. I sigh as I take an apple off the counter and take a bite.

This happens all the time
I think to myself
I thought that maybe when we moved here it would be different and he would pay more attention to me...I guess I was wrong though.

My phone buzzed and I unhooked it from the charger on the wall. I had received a text from one of my friends that I met while we were traveling. Her name was Adeline and I had met her in Paris. I hadn't seen her in forever. I told her about starting school today and she texted me to wish me luck.

Hey! Have fun on your first day of school! Wish I could be there with you!

I smiled and put down my phone again. I started packing my backpack making sure I had everything.

What if they don't like me?
What if they think I'm weird?
Where am I going to sit at lunch?
What if I don't make any friends?
Will I be the lonely girl?

Sky calm down. I think to myself...everything is going to be fine.

My phone alarm goes off and I realize I'm going to be late for school! Rushing out the door, my backpack falling off my shoulders, I run to school.
