This is what Ava would look like^
Thank you so much for reading! Sorry for any spelling or grammatical errors! Enjoy! ❤️

I woke up to the sound of a blood curdling scream. My muscles become rigid and I jump out of bed, suddenly wide awake. I sprint to my door and yell out my brother's and sister's name, trying to see what's wrong.

But by the looks of it no one has gotten up yet.

I look around once again but then I hear the same scream. That doesn't sound like any of my siblings, I think to myself.

I turn around again and look into my room. Then I spot it.

I had stupidly left my horror movie on last night.

I lost all of that sleep because I left on some stupid movie. Great.

I decide to get ready for school, because that scream fully woke me up. I get dressed in the my favorite outfit and slip on my trusty combat boots.

Perfect.

Now it's time to get my siblings up, I think as I sigh and walk out of my room. All of a sudden I hear footsteps downstairs. None of my siblings are awake yet, so it must be my mom. Just perfect, this is exactly what I need before my first day of school.

My mom hadn't been home all week, she was probably out bar hopping as usual.

I rolled my eyes then walked down my hall, knocking on each door as I pass.

"Ryder! Scarlett! Braydon! Evelyn! Brooklyn! Parker! Piper! C'mon! Get up! You guys got to get up now if you don't want to miss the bus!" I yell, effectively waking everyone up, except Ryder. I swear that boy sleeps like a rock.

"Ryder!" I say as I barge into his room. He groans and rolls over. Ryder is a year younger than me and sometimes I have to depend on him to help with the "devils," or as some people call them, siblings. He's not always much of a help though, take now for example.

I pick up his backpack that is filled with school supplies and throw it at him, nailing him in the back.

"Ughhhhhhhh Ava. Get out. I got it, it's time to go to school. I'm up. Leave."

I smirk at my success and leave the room. Then I hear yelling, soon followed by a yelp of surprise.

I run down the stairs, cautious when I get to the bottom. My drunk mother was not something to approach without assessing the situation. My mother was just beginning to lie down on the couch, about to pass out.

Braydon sat on the floor ducking, then peeked he through his fingers to see me standing over him. He let out a sigh of relief when he saw our mother passed out, motionless on the couch. There was a shattered glass bottle next to him, along with a new dent in the wall above his head. Braydon is only 11 years old, but he still looks at me with a brave face and pushes himself off the ground and dusts himself off.

All of us quietly maneuver around the kitchen careful not to wake our mother. We are just about to leave when Piper, the youngest, accidentally knocks over a chair. It lands with a loud THUD that echoes through the house. Our mother stirs and begins to get up.
I usher the children out the door so they can safely get out to the bus without dealing with my mother.

I grab my backpack on the way out (just in case) and walk my siblings, all except Ryder, to their bus stop. Ryder rides his skateboard some days to school, and today was one of those days, leaving me alone with the kids. They are soon safely on the bus, and I start walking down the block again, going back to my house.

I walk up my front porch, careful not to make a lot of noise, and twist the handle of the door.

It was locked.

My own mother locked me out.

I shouldn't be surprised though.

It's a good thing I got my backpack then, I think to myself.

I sigh as I re-adjust my backpack on my shoulder and head down my driveway, on my way to my bus stop to meet Cameron.

Cameron is holding her dance bag tapping her foot and looking around, probably for me. When I come into voice range, I yell out her name. I hadn't seen her in a while. She turns and a smile breaks out onto her face.

When I come to a stop, we start to laugh and joke around, which included our amazing fake British accents. The bus finally comes, and we start our long ride to school.
