Dylan's dark red eyes focused on mine as he slowly made his way toward me.
"Come our Lord Of Darkness! Our Lord Of Destruction! The sacrifice has been made, and the final seal broken! Free yourself of your chains! Fill the sky once more with your mighty form!" I could hear Will's voice as he shouted out, but nothing happened.
Dylan stopped and looked up at the empty ceiling... had something gone wrong here? I bloody well hoped so.
Maybe it really was all a dream?
But, then I saw the pale, dead figure of my father hanging from the gurney, and I knew that it was just wishful thinking. There was nothing that could fix this.
"I don't understand!" I heard Will say "Why isn't it working?"
If I could get Ashley off of me, I might be able to do something... as it was she felt like a dead weight crushing me into the floor.
You are a fucking werewolf, you idiot! Use your strength!
Of course... I just hoped that my inner thoughts were right about my capabilities and that I could overpower the boggart.
I had to get through to Dylan. I had to save our mum before he decided that she was going to be his next meal. Now was not the time to mourn, it was time for action. I had too many people relying on me to get everyone left out of this in one piece and I was damn well going to do my best to make sure those of us that were left could stop whatever plan Will had to release Lucifer.
Mustering all of my strength into my partially transformed arms I reached around and pulled Ashley off me, launching her across the room before she had a chance to react.
I rushed towards Dylan who ran towards me, fangs bared and ready to fight me. Shit. I did not want to hurt him. I ducked underneath his arms and headed straight for Will.
That bastard wasn't going to have a face by the time I was through with him...
As I rushed towards Will I felt something jump on my back from behind propelling me face-first into the floor.
Fuck it... that hurt.
I could feel blood running freely from my mouth and nose where I had smashed them. Crap. Yeah, my nose was definitely broken.
The weight lifted off of my back and I turned over to see Dylan looking down at me, his eyes narrowed in hatred, fangs still wet with blood.
Our dad's blood...
"Kill him, Dylan, I don't have time for this shit." I heard Will say impatiently "I need to figure out what we're missing here."
Dylan hissed and bent down until he was right in my face. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I looked at him. He didn't deserve this. He had his entire life to live... and Will had ripped any chance of normality from him and me in an instant.
"Dylan... you don't have to do this," I said as I coughed up a load of blood "You can control it."
He looked at me, his head cocked as he watched my arms slowly turn back to normal. Dylan then slowly reached a hand out to touch my now cold sweaty skin. His touch was cold, like Kian's, but it felt off like there was no humanity behind it.
"I can control it," I carried on, trying to get him to see "You might think that I'm a monster, and that's okay, maybe I am... but, I would not hurt you. Not ever. I just want you to know that."
Dylan blinked then, his eyes turning from red to his usual shade of brown, and his fangs retreated back until they were no longer visible.
"Why would you hide this from me?" Dylan asked then "You're a freaking werewolf! I thought that we told each other everything."
"Would you have believed me?" I asked, "If I had told you what I was, what Kian is, would you have believed a word I said?"
Dylan thought about it for a moment "Probably not, no." he then grabbed my hand in his and pulled me up from the floor "By the way, you're such a dork," Dylan smiled, his fangs flashing in the light.
"How touching," Will sneered as we faced him "Brotherly love. Makes me glad that all my real family are dead."
I glanced over at Kian, M was still keeping his eyes fixed on him so that he couldn't move. We were going to have to break his concentration.
The other problem was Dorian Gray who had moved to stand next to Will, his features expressionless as I tried to figure out how to break him.
Shit, he was like a statue, made of stone inside and out.
"Go fuck yourself." I coughed and spat out another glob thick with blood.
Will just laughed, his grin widening. Yeah, I know that I looked a mess right now, but he could at least act a little bit threatened by me.
"Maybe later," Will replied "After I kill you and figure out how to release Lucifer."
The spell didn't work, and he didn't know why...
"You don't know how," I laughed then, as I realised that he didn't have a clue what he was doing as much as any of us "You're a fucking idiot!"
"Dorian, please shut him the hell up before I lose my patience!"
I was getting to him...
Will pulled a small brown, leather-bound book from his pocket as Dorian made his way towards us. I felt Dylan take my hand.
"Together?" I heard him ask.
I smiled and nodded.
"Together."
Letting go of my hand Dylan sped towards Dorian, grabbing him by the throat before throwing him across the room towards M.
I made my way towards Will who watched as Dorian ploughed into M, breaking his connection with Kian who immediately sped towards Will and punched him, knocking him onto the floor, sending the book flying.
Kian then grabbed the front of Will's top and dragged him up from the floor, fresh blood running freely from his nose as Kian's bright red eyes flashed dangerously.
"Kian..." I said shocked as I reached him and Will.
Oh, I hope he didn't do anything stupid just yet...
"I'm going to kill him Alec... he deserves that!" Kian roared.
Suddenly Dylan was next to me. Shit. I was going to have to get used to this.
"Dylan, go and get mum out of here," I said, wanting to put as much distance between him and Will as I could.
"But..."
"Just do as I ask, please."
He nodded and sped over to where our mum was still bound to the gurney and began to untie her. I couldn't look at the other one, where I knew our dad's body was hanging in the straps.
No, I can't deal with that right now... I had to focus.
"Kian, we need him," I said, my voice breaking slightly "He set all of this up... and as much as I really want to rip him apart, we need to make sure The House dies with him. We need to make sure Lucifer isn't set free."
Kian dropped Will back onto the floor, but, I could still see the tension in his body.
I knelt down next to Will, and I could feel my hands start to shake with anger as I looked into his eyes.
"Your bloody lucky that I'm still letting you breathe," I said, somehow keeping my voice steady "What I want to know is why didn't your plan to release Lucifer work, huh? My guess is that the final part is a sacrifice... well you certainly managed that."
"You think you're so high and mighty," Will said, just about managing a bloody smile "That's why Lucifer rising is needed... to rid the world of filth like you!"
Fucking prick...
"But, your spell didn't work," I pointed out "You didn't free Lucifer."
"Not... yet."
What the fuck did he mean, not yet?
Then I felt a shiver go up my spine as I saw that Will wasn't looking at me, he was looking at the ceiling.
