Second Chances

Cyndi's POV

It has been two weeks since Diego and the guys brought my best friend Ophelia back her, which means that it has been two weeks since she has been locked away in the basement and my brother rejecting her as his mate. But she refused to allow him to be free even if it causes her pain whenever he is with another woman, such as out pack whores. Both of them are stubborn and hardheaded beyond belief. My brother is lucky that he has this second chance at having his mate. Part of me wishes I had the shot at love again but as I have said before, I'm scared that I will get closer to whoever it is and something will horribly go wrong and I am alone and miserable again. I just want to be happy and I want to start my own family too. But for right now I need to focus on keeping, Opehila fed so she doesn't wither away and die because if she dies I will never forgive my brother for having his ego and him being as disrespectful as he had been towards everyone here. As I am sitting outside thinking about everything when I hear the glass door open. I see my brother, Dante walking outside. He knows I'm upset about the way Diego has been treating me as well as everyone else.

~Dante~ You good, CiCi?

~Cyndi~ I am as good as I can be. I went to check on Ophelia and took her lunch. I got her shampoo and conditioner so she can take showers and feel somewhat decent with her being held prisoner.

~Dante~ Did Carlo go buy her clothes that you asked him too?

~Cyndi~ Yeah. I gave him the list and her sizes. He was more than willing to go get it. I think the way Diego is acting has everyone on edge.

~Dante~ No it is because you asked him to do it. He likes you a lot.

~Cyndi~ Yeah but he has a mate out there somewhere.

~Dante~ Have you ever thought that he is your mate?

~Cyndi~ If he is my supposed mate, how come I haven't caught a hint of his scent? Nothing that would give me any indication that he is my mate.

~Dante~ He has the ability to mask his scent unless he wants anyone to know it. He could be scared of Diego finding out.

~Cyndi~ Well it isn't Diego's call with who my mate is now is it. If he is my mate, then he is my damn mate.

~Dante~ What do you think of Carlo honestly?

~Cyndi~ He is easy to talk to, he is sweet, amazing and he makes me smile a lot.

~Dante~ Well then CiCi, I think you know what you need to do then don't you?

~Cyndi~ Why do guys have to be so damn complicated?

~Dante~ Not all of us are complicated. I'll see you later..

Dante heads inside and I am not too far behind him. When I head inside I see Dante in the kitchen and Carlo is walking down from his room with LuLu attached to his arm. This is why I can't get hurt again. I walk past the two of them and head to my room. I may need to go away for a few days. I can't believe I thought that I had a shot with Carlo, who after all is best friends with my two brothers. I slam my bedroom door shut and lay down in bed. I can bet that Dante is going to tell him how I feel about him.

Dante's POV

Seeing Carlo walk downstairs with LuLu attached to him, and then my sister seeing it, I could sense her disappointment. LuLu only wants someone within the pack that holds ranking. She doesn't have any feelings the way Carlo and Cyndi feel about each other. LuLu is getting on everyone's nerves in the pack. I have it in me to tell her to get the fuck out and go where she is wanted. Carlo watches my sister as she walks upstairs on the verge of crying. It's time for her to go.

~Dante~ Go away Lu Lu

~LuLu~ You can't tell me what to do!

~Dante~ I can and I will. Go the fück somewhere else. Leave Now!

She stops up the stairs and slams her door shut. She's lucky I have shit to handle today.

~Dante~ Your dumb you know that right?

~Carlo~ What are you on about?

~Dante~ Cyndi. She admitted to me outside how she feels about you. Then she came inside and saw you coming down here with LuLu attached to you. She now thinks she doesn't have a shot with you. Way to go dumbass.

~Carlo~ You know damn well that Diego wouldn't allow for myself and Cyndi to be together. He would kill me if he found out that she is....

~Dante~ Oh shït for real, she's your mate?

~Carlo~ Yeah. I found out about 6 months ago. I could catch her scent and she smells amazing. But she hasn't smelt me.

~Dante~ Well she has to admit that she likes you and she does like you a lot.

~Carlo~ What do I do about it now? She's not going to want to talk to me now..

~Dante~ Well guess that is what you are going to need to figure out on your own. I can't help you there. You fucked up, not me. Good luck. You are going to need it.

Carlo's POV

Finding out that my mate is the Alpha's little sister blew my mind. She had a mate but when we went to war several years ago, he was killed in a cross fire. She shut herself off from finding love again. Then roughly 6 months ago I was working out, I caught her scent of rosemary and lavender. She smells incredible. But earlier, I need to explain what happened. I was sitting in my room just after I got back from getting things for Ophelia, when Lu Lu came into my room. I know with Cyndi being my mate I should of went to her and pushed the idea of another woman away, but I didn't. I allowed her to suck me off. I thought of Cyndi the entire time. Gross I know but it's what happened. Come to find out she likes me too. What do I do now? I head upstairs and I go to check on Cyndi. She's passed out asleep and her face shows she was crying. All I can do now is apologize for what I did.

~Carlo~ I am so sorry. I will make it up to you. I promise you I will.

I cover her up and head to my room. Diego steps out of his room with Lu Lu and you can tell he got his tension relieved.

~Lu Lu~ Why don't all three of us have some fun together?

~Carlo~ Nope

We walk into his office and we sit down. He can instantly tell I have something on my mind. I'm always been honest with him and I won't start lying to him now.

~Diego~ What's going on?

~Carlo~ Cyndi is my mate.

~Diego~ How long have you known about it?

~Carlo~ 6 months. I didn't want to upset her with her still not over her mate but I did earlier. I let Lu Lu suck me off before I came downstairs after I went shopping for Ophelia needing clothes. She saw us and went to her room. I checked in her and she is asleep but after she cried. I know I fucked up. I get she's your sister but she is my mate and I will spend forever making it up to her.

~Diego~ I don't want you guys together.

~Carlo~ Sorry but she is who the moon goddess put me with. I deserve to have this chance with her. Regardless if you approve or not. Your mate needs you but you rejected her. Your in for a rude awakening with that one.

I head back to my room. I need to start figuring it out on how to make it up to her. I don't care if he approves or not. Dante already does. This would be no different if it were the other way around. Time to fix this and fix it now.
