"Umm, sir you're supposed to be getting rest but since you came out of the hospital you've been doing everything but that," Zara says walking into my room.
"It's not my first time getting shot I've been in worse pain than that," I say looking for baby k toy that she lost in my room and is now driving the house crazy till we find it.
"Umm, that's sad that you just said that so normal, since you are not in pain why don't you keep looking for that toy, bye," she said running out.
That woman is always running out. I ended up finding the toy with nobody's help. Since it's been three days since I left the hospital I was okay.
I sat in one of the old small family living rooms that no one have sat in for a long time. I being to play the piano trying to remember old keys. I haven't played in so long but after a while, I was starting to get the hang of it again.
I notice my mother's footsteps approaching from behind me so I continued to play after a while she sat down on the white couch that was to the side of me.
"Ooh don't stop playing because I came in the room, I missed you and Damien playing the piano I remember how I used to come in and just sit and watch you two play," my mother said with a smile on her face revealing her deep dimples that only two of her kids carried from her.
"You know what made you different Roman you didn't talk much as a kid and you still don't but you just had this way of talking to people because you were always ahead of people because you would observe them and watch how they talk or what the do and how they move," my beautiful mother adds on.
"That's what made you smart without having to say anything. I remember how piano used to be your escape from the real world, I mean your father." She says with teary eyes.
"Mom you know I'm not mad at you right, I remember how much you tried to protect me and the rest of my siblings but dad had all the power, but you tried that's all that mattered to me, you are a great mother and I'm so happy my kids get the chance to see you and grow up with you in their life," I say while tears come down my mother pretty face.
"You being in this room means your trying to escape whatever it is out there so tell me?" she asked me as she comes to sit next to me on the stool by the piano.
"You know momma I finally found this missing piece...this feeling I been looking for so long and now that I got it I just feel like I don't deserve it, because no matter how hard I'm holding onto it I just keep feeling like at any moment it's gonna slip right out my hand, and ma I-I don't want it to slip," I say trying not to cry as my voice break down.
My mother grabbed my hands "son look at me it's gonna slip it's a part of life, you just have to nature it so when it slips it knows to come back home right back to you," she says as she wiped my tear that was falling down my face.
"Son looks at me don't let this dark thing... take you with it... whatever is hunting you stay strong baby you hear me you keep fighting," my mom says to me as her soft hands held my face.
