Hey guys! Just a quick message about this story from this point on. A vast majority of these chapters will deal with heavy topics such as grooming, SA, su*cide, SH, and mental illness. If these are things you struggle with, I recommend not reading any more or coming back when you are in the mental space to handle it. Of course, for those who still choose to continue, I will be putting TWs on every chapter where is needed. That's all! <3

TW: Mentions of SH, emotional ab*se

I first went to Sarah's house to see if she wanted to take a drive around town. I hurried up the front steps of her house probably a little too eagerly and knocked urgently. I waited for a moment before knocking again and a split second after the second knock, Sarah threw open the door with a fearful expression as if she was worried there was an emergency.

"Ed! What the hell is going on??" she wondered with concern lining her tone.

I smiled brightly, "My dad got me a car."

Sarah's expression instantly lit up and she smiled with me, "What!? I want to see!" she exclaimed before shutting the door behind her and hurrying with me off the porch to the car. I presented the Toyota to her as if it were a brick of solid diamond and I revelled in her comments of praise and amazement.

"Ed, this is so rad!" she exclaimed as she peered inside to see the interior.

"Want to go for a drive around town?" I wondered.

"Well, duh, what kind of question is that?" she laughed and went around to the passenger's seat. I got into the driver's seat and the moment we were both buckled in, I was driving off. I didn't know where I was going, I didn't exactly have a destination in mind but that didn't matter to me. I was in my car with my favourite person, that was enough to keep me happy.

We eventually ended up picking up Michael as well and the three of us drove around looking for anything to do; it was Mike who suggested we grab some alcohol and go to a campsite that overlooked the city so we could drink and have a little hangout in the wilderness. I thought it sounded like fun so we made the journey, singing and dancing along to the rock songs that played on the radio the entire way.

We stopped at a liquor store and Sarah and Michael were the ones to go in to buy the drinks because they were the only one's twenty-one and older. It didn't take them long to grab what they wanted and come back and we were ready to get going in less than twenty minutes.

Our journey then continued on towards the campsite and the entire way, we chatted and laughed about random things while letting the music blare in our ears. Everyone's spirits were high from excitement and none of us could wait to get to the overlook so we could have our small party. The only thing that would make this outing even better would be if Steve joined us but we couldn't have everything and that was fine.

The campsite was fairly empty when we arrived, which was a blessing for us and we gladly took advantage of the space. I parked close to the overlook and we sat on the logs that were placed there for campers to use.

Sarah was quick to pop open the bottles of alcohol to start drinking and Michael and I soon joined her in drinking. We talked and laughed about stupid things while sharing our drinks and the more we drank, the tipsier we became, and the more ridiculous our conversations became.

I was having fun and Sarah and Michael were as well. However, I was consciously aware of Sarah's drinking so I was keeping an eye out for her because I knew sooner or later, she'd start getting flirty. When she's like that, she doesn't stop until she gets something but I honestly wasn't really in the mood to do anything like that. I just wanted to sit and talk and enjoy my friends' company.
