Kelsey POV -
I stood in the cavern surrounded by five men dressed almost exclusively in black with menacing helmets on each of their heads and yet somehow I wasn't frightened. My brain was sending alerts of danger but deep down something almost felt comforting, even familiar, about these men that had just been introduced to me. I looked at the mask of the man who held my hand keeping me steady on my feet as I swayed on my injured leg. The bright crimson lines on his helmet were like illuminated rivers of stone, artfully done, and yet I could tell they were there as part of a repair to a shattered mask.
"You're injured." The Supreme Leader's helmet motioned towards my knee and I nodded slowly.
"Wait, did you say that you are the Supreme Leader?" I asked as his words finally registered in my mind and I tried to withdraw my hand from his.
"I did. I am." He didn't allow me to take my hand back as he took a step toward me.
"Oh, wow. I thought you never left the Supremecy."
"There is a lot that has happened recently. Let's get you out of here and then maybe I'll let you know of all the changes within the First Order that have come recently."
"Okay. I can't walk though."
"We know." A man in a silver mask moved closer to me and the Supreme Leader passed him my hand. "We'll get you out."
"Thank you," I whispered as I suddenly felt very calm as his glove touched mine.
"What were you doing down here?"
I looked up at the Supreme Leader as he spoke and noticed he had my saber hilt in his hand. "I need that back please."
"We'll see." His modulated voice had an audible smirk that reminded me of Ben's and I felt my eyes sting as tears threatened to well up as I missed my friend whom I had been convinced was down here with me just a short time ago.
"Please, it's very important to me. It's why I was down here." I reached out for the hilt but the Supreme Leader took it and tucked it in his belt and I felt the first tear escape my eye. "Please."
"Did you find what you came to the Crystal Caves for?" The Supreme Leader's helmet faced me as it tilted slightly to the left. It was a motion that made my heart scream with familiarity, tugging at an old wound that had already been ripped open today. " Did you find your crystal, little padawan?"
"How did you know I was looking for a crystal?"
"Why else would anyone come down here to these caves and risk being lost forever?" The Supreme Leader's soft chuckle escaped his modulator and I stared at his mask as my heart tugged with so much pain from the past.
"Yes," I answered quietly as I looked down and wiped my cheek free from tears. "I found it."
"Good."
The Supreme Leader turned and I watched his feet leave my eyesight as he headed for the chamber entrance. The man next to me gave my hand a slight tug and I looked up at him curiously. Moving closer he tucked his arm around my waist from the back and pulled me into his side.
"We'll get you out of here, don't worry." The silver grid mask nodded to me before looking forward to the exit. "Just hold on."
The Knight bent down as he placed his other arm under my knees, scooping me up into the air. I yelped softly as his armor pressed into my body and I wrapped both arms around his neck as he started to carry me from the room.
"I have a backpack and staff in another chamber but I can't find it anymore." I looked up into the silver mask as it turned to stare down at me.
"Don't worry we found them."
