The journey back to the base had been a long and cold one as I rode my speeder bike in the middle of the pack of Knights. It did give me lots of time to think about my awkward and hot exchange with the Supreme Leader from before. I wasn't sure if I had imagined his inflection of tone or if he had really been coming onto me but either way I wanted to go home and take a long hot shower with my rechargeable friend.
But instead, I was being carried by a Knight of Ren through one of the halls of Starkiller base, headed towards the med bay. I had tried to insist that I was alright and just needed a day or two off of my feet but the Supreme Leader wouldn't hear any of it. And now I was destined to get medical help for my knee whether I wanted it or not.
The med bay came into view as the Knight with the DeathTrooper mask carried me high in his arms. He was a massive beast of a man, almost as big as the Supreme Leader and I didn't hate being held so protectively but it did make me feel a little helpless and silly. I had only depended on myself for so long that it was hard to take any help from others no matter the situation.
"You'll have to close the cafe for a few days." The Knight holding me spoke and I turned to face his helmet.
"No. I can just have Claire work with Namra for a few days. Claire knows how to run everything without me in case of an emergency."
"Well, that's good. I have a feeling you'll be spending some time with us anyways." A deep chuckle came from under his hodgepodge mask.
"Why would I do that?"
"You're a Force-sensitive, correct?"
"Well, yeah."
"Master doesn't let Force-sensitives out of his sight unless he knows they aren't a threat. And we haven't established that with you yet."
"Well shit."
"It's amazing that you hid from us the entire time you were here. I've been in the cafe before and I never would have guessed you had the shadow."
"The shadow?" I scrunched my eyebrows in thought as I tilted my head at him.
"The dark side of the Force."
"Oh." I paused as I thought for a brief moment before answering him. "I don't have the dark side of the Force. I'm a Jedi, not a Sith."
"I'm not a Sith either, but I still wield the shadow."
I didn't answer him as we entered the med bay and I was placed down on a medical bed before the Knight walked away. When I looked around only the Supreme Leader was still near me and the six Knights had all vanished like ghouls in the night. The nurse spoke only to the Supreme Leader as he pointed at me and gave her instructions to care for my knee. The nurse nodded quickly before she walked to the back of the room and began to load a tray with supplies as the Supreme Leader made his way over to me.
"You will stay here until I retrieve you in a little while. They will fix your knee with a few bacta injections and give you a full physical." The Supreme Leader stood at the edge of my bed as his hand rested gently on my injured leg, his thumb moving slowly up and down my thigh. "Do not speak to anyone about anything or how you got injured. They are assuming you are a prisoner and that's how I want it kept. A Knight will be posted in the hallway as a guard so don't try and run away."
"Why on Mustafar would I need a guard?" I stared up into the visor of his helmet as he looked down on me, tilting his head again in that familiar way that made my heart tug at old memories. "I'm so confused."
The Supreme Leader didn't answer me as he squeezed my leg gently before he turned and walked away.
I yearned for him to come back and place his fingers back on me. It had been so long since I had been touched gently by a man. Niki had never been gentle with me. He had been an abrasive, controlling, asshole since the first time he lied an 'I Love You' in my direction. I wish I had seen all the red flags at first but I had let his false promises blind me from the truth of how much of a dickhead he was.
