"yeah, what's up?"
your voice was cool and casual, unlike one generally used to speak with someone as respected as a teacher. erwin was a bit taken aback by your lack of formality but was quick to brush it off.
"well, what's up are these test scores! well, they're actually down but..." the man awkwardly laughed before realizing you weren't in any way amused at his little play on words, nor the whole event of staying past class for this little chit-chat "your grade is dropping due to recent test scores, is there something going on? why have they been going down so drastically?"
his tone was caring, but you couldn't help to roll your eyes once again. his class was almost as unbearable as mr. ackermans sex education pep talks, which made sense considering the two had been caught hanging out on multiple occasions. who even let the janitor hold those?
and a suspected mob boss at that.
"sorry smith, my little brother has been asking me to help him with homework lately so i've had no time to study myself."
that was of course a lie. what had really been keeping you busy was the little failed execution of a plan using porco who'd actually called you pretty that morning.
in fact. had you even seen either of your two brothers all week? that was an obvious no. whatever, they were both annoying brats anyway which is why you frequently ignored their existence. you couldn't even remember what grade they were in, scratch that, you didn't care enough to remember what grade they were in.
"well i'm sure you can make time for studying." the man then sighed, taking a seat once again "which is why i've found you a tutor, now you'll have to study, because if i find out you're not, you'll start receiving detentions!"
you felt the world come crashing down all around, after school activities plummeting into the ground, parties being canceled due to tutoring of all things? who does he think i am? you were fuming. you wouldn't be caught dead studying. you don't study, you just do.
"sir...in all respect, i don't study."
"well yeah, that's obvious enough."
"no i mean, i don't do studying."
"which is why i'm assigning you a tutor."
you gritted your teeth in nothing but annoyance. back in the day, your grades were average. passing grades, nothing flashy, but never had you failed a class. what would your parents think?
they'd probably kick your ass, that's for sure. taking into consideration the high standards they held for you as not only the eldest, but the only girl, you knew accepting this tutor was the only option.
the only option that didn't lead to an ass-kicking.
you also thought about colt, your younger brother who excelled in quite literally everything. outstanding grades, smart but not in a nerd way, in a charming way that got girls' attention. to just about everyone else he was sweet little colty, especially to your parents.
