"armin arlert, right?"
you'd ended up finding the boy nose deep in a physics book, jotting down notes. the book was incredibly thick though he maneuvered through it easily it seemed, considering the rapid speed he'd been writing in his notebook.
as you said that in what was apparently a kindhearted tone (though it was more irritated if anything), armin's oddly shaped framed glasses clunked as his head rose. with one small look, he gave out a breathless sigh. the shift of his eyes was drastic, from focused to what you made out as concerned.
"uh, yeah. i'm armin." you raised your brow in anticipation, to which he just lowered his eyes again, not daring to offer an introduction. not like you cared much, this was forced study not a date, "i'll be tutoring you this week."
you silently eyed him whilst pulling the vacant seat beside him, dragging it out like being here wasn't anything close to delightful, taking in just about every detail he had to offer. armin had never undergone a glow up, having the same appearance from elementary till now. well, from what you remembered of him, which wasn't much.
an obviously boyish face, though his black-rimmed glasses seemed to take up half of it, that prescription definitely never changed. large blue eyes from behind the glass, blonde shaggy bangs, and a reddish button nose. his figure was small, lacking in muscle, however he wasn't exactly the most unattractive thing you'd ever seen.
wow, you couldn't believe you'd just admitted that.
a serious makeover could've done him some good and if you had the time to dabble in side quests you would've taken on the challenge. it could've been your own spin on she's all that.
the most lacking thing was confidence, didn't expect much from life and it showed like hell. totally begging for some style. you noticed it in the way he sat, nervous knee bouncing with fidgety hands. a hunched 60-degree angled position rather than 90. at least have some class arlert.
as for his style, well, let's just say it wasn't the most appealing. you couldn't decide between blue or turquoise while inspecting his shirt, finally landing on the decision of green, a murky one. there was an emote on the front and he styled it with a black long sleeve underneath, not too crazy. the rest was standard, khakis paired with some unusually clean sneakers, probably cleaned those every now and then. there was a lot of personality, but no style.
armin was socially inept to some degree, though got along swimmingly with close friends and apparently teachers. overall kind, had good morals, exemplary student with goals. geeked out to comic books and seasonal anime's.
an easy person to read.
upon taking a seat, he offered to place your bag on the same chair as his. glancing over at the seat, you noticed the insides of his own bag showing, inside was a book that read 'marine biology' stacked neatly against skinny notebooks and a manga. his backpack was a bland yellow color which seemed to match absolutely nothing except the shade of his messy hair.
