10 years later

Ave slowly opens her eyes at the break of dawn. Her body was still tired, but she forces herself to move anyways despite the sweet temptation of the cold bed. Ave stands before a mirror before whispering the words once more.

"I am Ave... I have a daughter... I am Ave... and I will go back home..." The pain flares back from within but Ave did not stop. She could feel her soul groan, writhing in the flames of damnation as she spoke the words, but also the memory getting clearer with each word she spoke.

Ave continued to whisper the words over and over again until her body finally comes to life. Fragments of memories are cleared once more as she recalls the past. Despite a decade had passed, Ave had never forgotten the things the creature had done to her.

She refuses to acknowledge the thing to be God despite the whole world saying so. Statues and monuments of this 'God' are dotted all across the world. Churches and grand cathedrals were erected in the honor of its name.

The people of the world seemed to worship this God whom they called Folux, the God of light. Its priests and devout believers revered the thing as the most sacred being in the universe. Ave however had other plans in mind.

No matter what it was, big or small, Ave made sure to ruin everything related to the God beyond recognition. It would take her months sometimes years, but Ave ultimately prevailed as she forever marred its once grandeur beauty.

Though it probably felt meaningless to Folux, Ave never ceased to do so as every little spite, every little act of desecration was an act of rebellion she was willing to take as she still tries to find a way to kill him.

An entire decade of ceaseless research. Ave devoured entire libraries worth of knowledge and wisdom and many more in the pursuit of finding an answer, but Ave found nothing. With each book she finishes, a gnawing sense of dread encroaches from her heart.

Can I even kill it? Where do I even find it? What if it's all too late? Shadows of doubt plagued Ave from the moment her 2nd life began, yet miraculously, Ave find her answer again and again. Daughter... I have to go back to her... Her purpose was found once more as she continues.

Whether it be daybreak or nightfall, Ave never fails to gather just a little bit more. Piece by piece, pebble by pebble, Ave continues to add droplets of knowledge into her reservoir. Whether it proved to be useful has yet to be determined as Ave breathed in a slow sigh of relief, pain finally receding.

A soft knock dragged Ave back to reality as a soft voice follows through. "Dear? Are you awake?" Ave opened her eyes to see the sun had already risen. So soon... Ave shook her head in regret as she slowly rises from her feet, breathing in the cold air before finally answering.

"I am..." Ave said in reply as the door creaks open a moment later. The door opened as it revealed a beautiful woman who was in her early thirties. Her jet-black hair drapes over her shoulder as her dark eyes were filled to the brim with warmth. Her mother for the past decade, Yana.

"Breakfast is ready dear, are you coming?" Ave could only give a small awkward nod as Yana smiled gently before the heavy silence settles down in the room. The two did not know what to say next. Despite a decade spending together, Ave instinctively draws a line.

The crushing weight of imposter syndrome prevented Ave to even react from even the smallest of kindness causing the silence that still lingered. It would have continued forever too were if not for Yana's finally breaking the silence.

"W-would you like to come down with me?" Yana asked as a tinge of anticipation filled her voice. Ave destroyed this hope however as she shook her head. "You can go ahead. I will catch up later." Yana flinches ever so slightly before returning back a smile.
