"Mom! Are you there?! Mom answer me! Mom..." The voice was getting farther and farther away as Aveline Barre could feel life slipping away from her grasp. She tried to open her mouth in hopes of breathing in.
Her body refuses to even open her mouth as despair and regret dawn on her. I'm going to die... Aveline thought in fear as her daughter flashes briefly in her mind. I...I can't die here... my... daughter... what about my daughter?
Aveline pleads desperately for her body to move. I...I am the only one she has left... I can't die here!... please... I can't..." Aveline wanted to cry as the light slowly dims. She tries one last push to open her mouth but it simply won't listen. Aveline died as her eyes remained open, the look of despair was forever etched on her face.
Aveline gasped deeply as she opened her eyes. Her heart beats violently as she grasped her chest tightly. "W-what the hell?" Aveline thought as she could not believe the miracle before her. "I-I'm alive?" Aveline wanted to shout and scream in joy before a voice whispered softly in her ears.
"I'm sorry..." Aveline turned to see a mesmerizing ball of light before her. It excludes beauty and grace despite simply being a ball of light. The light voices off an air of reverence and sanctity as Aveline was further mesmerized by its beauty and grandeur.
"W-who are you?" Aveline whispered as the voice gently whispered. "I am what you may call... God." Aveline's eyes widen in shock as she immediately kneels in reverence. "I...I..." Aveline could find no words as she was simply too astounded by its words.
"Raise your head, my child... I... owe you an apology." The voice sorrowfully whispered as Aveline raised her head in confusion. "You were... not supposed to die... so soon... it was supposed to be... later... much later..." Memories came crashing down on Aveline as she quickly understood.
"T-then can you send me back? It's not my time after all right??" Aveline answered rapidly as hope surged from her heart once more. "I can see my daughter again right?" Aveline almost wanted to run back to her body, only a word from the light does she needs to do so.
"...No..." The voice answered painfully as Aveline blinked back in shock. "W-what? What do you mean no?" Aveline felt the hope inside her crushed into pieces as she asked back in panic. "It's not my time right? I am not supposed to die yet right??" Aveline tried to reason.
"...I'm sorry... your body... it is beyond salvation..." The light whispered mournfully as Aveline felt something choked on her. "T-then heal it back! You are God right? You can help me back right??" Aveline desperately pleaded as the light spoke again.
"...I'm sorry... it is my fault... I cannot... bring you back... I am so sorry." Aveline blinked in tears as she felt fear choking her once more. "I don't need your sorry! I have to go back! My daughter needs me! I am all she has left!" Aveline screamed loudly as the light flickered.
"I will make sure your daughter will live a prosperous life... I will guide her... bless her more than any other human... but... I cannot bring you-" "Liar!" Aveline cut the light with a scream as her legs trembled violently.
"I don't need your blessing! I don't need your help! I just want to go back! I want to go back with my daughter! I want my life back! I have fought so hard, and this is what I received??" Aveline demanded before the light in fury, but more so in desperation as the light whispered once more.
"...I can give you a new life instead... A life with no pain... no hardship... born with a golden spoon-" "I SAID I DON'T WANT IT!" Aveline shouts in madness as the light tried to console her. "I DON'T WANT ANYTHING FROM YOU BUT MY LIFE BACK! IT IS YOUR MISTAKE SO FIX IT!" Aveline tried to strike the light but only slipped past through.
"...I am so sorry... this is the best I could do..." At the light's word, Aveline was engulfed in an orb of light. Aveline noticed what was going on as she begins to flail more violently. "UNHAND ME! I DID NOT AGREE TO THIS!" Aveline tried to break free but failed.
She tried to pierce through the bubble of light but failed as it only stretches back and forth. "...I promise you... your next life... will be bountiful... full of everything you missed... full of beauty, strength, riches, power, and love that others will covet in envy."
The light whispered as the ball of light slowly drifts away. "Wait... no no no w-wait a second!" Aveline panicked as she slowly drifted away. "I SAID WAIT DAMN IT! JUST WAIT!" Aveline screamed once again but it did not stop.
"...Please... just wait..." Aveline could not handle the rising fear anymore as she simply collapses down on her knees. The light pitied Aveline as it listened to her request at last. "...Can't you just let me stay here... please?" Aveline croaked weakly as she throws one last attempt. One last attempt to stay with her daughter.
"... I just... I just want to be with my daughter... if I can't be with her... then can't you just let me watch over her?... please?..." The light pulsed softly for a moment before letting out another painful whisper. "...I can't... your soul... will die... you must... go... " A soft cry escaped from Aveline's lips as the light drags her away.
"...Don't worry... I will take away your memory... so you can live life to the fullest in the next... again... I am so sorry..." The light whispered as it tried to take Aveline's memory... except it failed. The light was shocked as it tried again and again but failed every time.
Aveline slowly raises her head as the scorn in her eyes burned eternally. She bared her fangs open as she snarls in despise. "You... can... not... take... her... from me..." Aveline struggled with each word as she resisted so violently from the erasure.
The pain was unbearable as it burns her heart full of hate. Aveline could feel her soul cursed in damnation... but she did not care in the slightest as she refuses to let go of the only thing she has left on her daughter.
"You... are no... God... You... are... a... murderer... with... the... power... of one..." Aveline snarled as the light blinked rapidly as if it was horrified. "...It does... not matter... how long... it... would take... It... does not... matter... how painfully... it will be...
...I... WILL... BREAK... FREE... FROM THESE... CHAINS... AND WHEN... THAT... DAY... COMES... WILL... BE... THE... DAY... YOU... DIE!!!" Aveline howled one last time before finally dragged out from its presence.
Aveline could feel her soul injured as it resisted the light's command. She felt to be in constant pain as her heart burned incandescently in pure hatred... but her memory remained... it was a small but momentous victory for Aveline.
When Aveline opened her eyes once more, she could do nothing but cry. She was a baby once more, a beautiful couple smiled down on her. Eyes full of warmth and love for their firstborn. Babies usually cry when they are birthed but no one knows why.
Some say it was a cry of life, others say it was just a natural reaction. To Aveline however, her memory remained... the daughter she has... remained. Aveline could do nothing but cry. She screamed as loud as her small lungs could possibly scream as she mourned for her daughter and despised the one who separated her from the only thing that brought light to her world.
