𝖀nable to utter words, they stared at each other. Their eyes and body showed no sign of faltering.

Ayame looked down upon Sebastian, and he looked up towards her. Ayame's left hand reached to his head, and gently rubbed it with a finger.

Sebastian, a noble knight, was laying on Ayame's lap. To be specific, his head was on top of Ayame's thighs.

"This is weird." Sebastian said.

"Hey, you can talk to me about whatever. If you have problems, then I'll do my best to help. We're travel buddies, after all." Ayame said with a caring voice and a small smile.

"Yes, but why am I on your lap?" He asked.

"I thought you'd feel better." Ayame answered and shrugged her shoulders.

"You do... smell nice, but is this not uncomfortable? For you, I mean." He said with a straight expression.

"Not at all. I quite like it." She said while rubbing the top of Sebastian's head.

"I do not see how this is enjoyable in the slightest." Sebastian said with an unmoving body.

"Anyway, enough of that. In the safari vehicle earlier.... I'm sorry. I can get stubborn at times, and also assume wrong things. W-Well, I don't usually get like this! But... it's umm... different when I'm with you." She said.

Sebastian gazed straight into her apologetic red eyes with his green ones and stayed silent.

"So..! You can talk to me... I can help." She timidly said with a fastly beating heart.

Sebastian closed his eyes and exhaled air from his lungs. He opened his eyelids again and the corners of his mouth slightly arched downwards.

"Well, to tell you the truth, I really miss-"

A few days later, after doing more activities in Kenya, they were having a quick breakfast before hopping on a plane.

They were having some mandazis coupled with tea.

"Where are we going to now?" Sebastian asked.

"Madagascar. We're going to stay at a beach resort." Ayame replied.

"...Are we going swimming?"

"Yeah, of course. What's the point of going to a beach resort if you don't swim at the beach?" Ayame asked sarcastically.

"I do not know how to swim." Sebastian deadpanned.

Ayame's eyes slightly squinted at her travel buddy, and her expression turned to a skeptical one.

"You really don't know how to swim? Like, in water?" She asked.

"Yes, I never learned how to swim."

"How? You're a noble, plus a knight. I'm sure you could get someone to teach you at a lake or something."

"What I did not tell you however, is that I am afraid of big bodies of water."

Ayame was fully unconvinced, and her face showed it perfectly.

"And the videos about the deep ocean did not help my phobia." Sebastian said with a straight face.

"Well, no matter. I'll help you overcome your fear! Believe it!" Ayame exclaimed with a grin and a thumbs up. Sebastian only stared at her with his usual stoic face.

The plane the duo boarded was high in the sky, flying towards Madagascar. Sebastian was resting his eyes while his head was reclined on the headrest. Meanwhile, Ayame was playing a game on her Nintendo Switch while wearing a wireless headphone.
