Farm AU[Lumity AU]

Chapter One

Amity's POV

I put my stuff in the car trunk. Mom watched, not wanting to interact with me.. She was still mad at me for getting suspended for this summer.

Emira put her stuff in the back. Edric was watching as he tossed his own stuff in our father's truck, frowning. I felt bad. Me and Emira were able to get out of going to the summer school due to my stunt last year, but Edric was still stuck going to his school, Regis High School. It was a pretentious all-boy school.. Unlike mine and Emira's school, his just went more into detail about normal school topics.

Mom turned away letting out a groan. "I can't believe I'm sending you to that hell hole."

"I think a farm would be a better hell hole then the Seven Sisters." Emira's voice made me jump. I glanced at her, a soft and hidden giggle escaped.

Mom looked back, unimpressed. "Right. You're phone trackers are on. You will go straight to the Barn Owl Farm. It shouldn't take you more than three hours."

Emira nodded. She shut the trunk. Emira walked to Edric hugging him. She whispered something, causing him to groan. Emira backed away and hurried over to the car and got in.

Edric came over and wrapped his arms around me, giving me a tight hug. "Have fun!" He then whispered. "As much fun as your stunt sounded. Try not to do it again."

I rolled my eyes and let go.. he turned away and walked over to dad's truck, climbing in.. I turned and climbed into Emira's car. I looked at my parents.. Mom nodded before turning away and going inside, while dad gave us a goodbye wave before climbing in his own truck and driving off.

Emira put the car in reverse, and drove out of the cobblestone drive away. She let out a holler.

"HOME FREE BABY!" She laughed.

"Keep your eyes on the road Emira!" I told her. "You can't not be careful-"

"Oh suck it up Mittens!"

"I told you to stop calling me that."

"And I already told you no. Look. We're finally free! No school! No parents."

"But we're working on a farm." Not that there was anything wrong with it.. Just wasn't used to getting dirty.

Emira paused. "Yeah.. But it's fine." She waved her hand dismissively.

I rolled my eyes and leaned back, opening my phone.. An eyebrow of mine raised while looking at the map. "Hmm. Seems like this supplies for It's near by town.. Bonesborough... It's owned by a woman and her.. Husband? No.. Parnter! My bad.." I now felt stupid for misgendering the partner.

Emira was humming in acknowledgement, but I don't think that she was really paying attention.

"Let's see.. Edalyn Clawethrone and Raine Clawethorne. Oh?"

Emira glanced over. "What is it?"

"There are a few more people in the photo." I paused glancing over before reading aloud, "Camilla Noceda is one of the higher ranking veterinarios. After the death of her husband, she and her daughters moved in with Eda and Raine. Taking on the job of the farm vet." I looked at the picture, two little girls, probably around ten or eleven. "Awe. The kids are cute." I chuckled, turning my phone off.
