You were sitting in class as your teacher was chattering away about random stuff making you bored out of your mind.

So bored you decided to see if anyone in the class room could read minds.

'Hello?'

You ask, but no one looks in your direction and your shoulders slump.

'Can anyone read minds?'

Still, no one moves a muscle. Everyone just listening to the teacher talk, some people taking notes.

You decide to make a joke to see if anyone would laugh.

You wait a few seconds, looking around the class room to see if anyone looked amused, turning in your chair only to see Chase in the seat behind you, he sees you looking and makes eye contact with you, giving him a little smile.

'Shit, hes cute.'

You notice Chase's cheeks get a little dark but you think nothing of it, turning back to face the teacher.

'Whats forest gumps password on his computer?'

You wait a few seconds before finishing the joke.

'1forest1.'

You begin laughing at your own joke, smacking the table lightly, gaining the attention of some classmates.

"What's wrong with you?" The girl next to you asks with a disgusted look.

"What's wrong with your face." You bite back and you hear a chuckle from behind you.

Facing the front again, you think of a new joke.

'Okay, next one. What's the best thing about dead baby jokes?'

...

'They never get old.'

You're about to laugh out loud again but it stops before it even starts when you hear a chuckle come from behind you.

You spin around to see Chase smiling, his shoulders jumping as he chuckles before he notices you looking and quickly begins to cough.

A fake cough.

You squint your eyes at him, and his blue eyes dart towards the teacher.

'You can read my mind can't you.'

His eyes dart to you for a split second, but you notice it and let out a gasp.

"Miss l/n, is there a reason you're not facing the front?" The teacher booms from his spot making you quickly turn around.

"No sir." You shake your head.

"Didn't think so. Now pay attention."

He begins talking again but once again, you don't listen.

'Bitch.'

You hear another small chuckle from behind you and you smirk.

'So you can read minds?'

You hear a small mhm from behind you.

'Cool.'

'I know right

You flinch at the voice in your head, eyes widening.

'What the—'

'Yeah, I can also speak in your mind.'

'Even cooler...so you heard me call you cute?'

'Yup.'

'Oh.'

You blush and cover your face in embarrassment.

'Thats okay though, I think you're cute too.'

Sitting up in your chair you turn a little to look at him and he smirks, giving you a wink.

You gave front again so you won't get told off.

'You're Chase right?'

'Yup, and you're y/n?'

'Yup'

'Thats a beautiful name.'

You can't see, but Chase is smiling like an idiot from behind you. He's been meaning to talk to you for a while, but has always been too shy.

'So, how does this all work?'

'I'll tell you everything after class if you want?'

'Yes please.'

'Great, its a date.'

The rest of class they didn't talk, but neither of the teenagers could take the bright smiles off their faces.
