Modern! Sebastian

———

Sebastian hums as he wraps his arms around your waist, swaying from side to side a little bit as he presses kisses along your neck. "Good morning."

Your eyes roll back a little bit at his raspy voice before you turn around to face him. "Morning, I'm making breakfast you want some?"

He nods before pulling away, "I'll go ask Amalia."

You nod and watch him leave before letting out a small sigh.

Amalia, Sebastians 15 year old daughter. She absolutely hates you, you try your hardest to make her like you but everything you do just isn't enough.

Sebastian and you have been dating for 7 months, its been about 2 years since he got a divorce with his wife, he caught her cheating on him with one of her co-workers, ended the relationship right then and there.

His wife gave Sebastian full custody of Amalia, not wanting anything to do with either of them anymore.

Around 2 months ago, Sebastian introduced you to Amalia, sure she was off with it, but you and Sebastian just thought she would warm up to you over time.

Last night he asked you to move in with them. He knew that Amalia didn't like you that much but he didn't know that she absolutely hates you.

You haven't given him an answer yet, letting him know that you wanted to make sure it was okay with Amalia before you move any further with anything.

You finish up on breakfast and place it onto 3 plates, Sebastian walks back in with Amalia and she scoffs when she notices you in the room. "What is she doing here?"

Sebastian shakes his head. "Be nice Amalia."

The young girl rolls her eyes before looking at the food and talking a plate, moving to the table to eat. Sebastian gives you a sorry look and you shrug before grabbing your own plates and moving to the table.

Sebastian sits down next to you, you sitting across from Amalia and she doesn't dare to look up from her phone.

Sebastian clears his throat, swallowing his food. "Amalia we have something to tell you"

She sighs and puts down her phone, looking at her dad. "What?"

He looks at you from a second before looking back at his daughter. "So y'know...y/n and I are dating, and things are getting a little serious." She stares at him with a bored expression before he continues. "And uh- I thought— how would you feel about y/n moving in?"

Amalia looks at you with a small glare as you wait there nervously. "No."

Sebastians eyebrows raise. "No?"

Amalia slams her hand on the table. "No. Dad, I dont want her to move in with us. I mean- who do you think you are?!" She points a finger at you. "You think you can just walk in here and replace my mom?!"

"Amalia I'm not trying to replace her, if you would just try and—"

"No! I dont want to hear it! You're not my mom and I dont have to listen to you! I don't need you to come in here and act like it okay?! You're not good enough for me and you sure as hell aren't good enough for my dad!"

"Amalia!" Sebastian yells and she stops yelling.

You feel tears prick your eyes as she scoffs and storms up to her room.

Sebastian lets out a sigh. "Y/n, I'm so sorry—"

"No, shes right." You mutter, standing up and moving to grab your jacket.

Sebastian follows you. "What?"

You turn to him with saddened eyes. "I'll never be good enough, I'll never be like her." You say referring to his ex wife.

Sebastian shakes his head, stepping forward and placing his hands on your cheeks. "I don't want you to be like her. I want you how you are. I love you y/n, Amalia doesn't understand yet–"

"Shes 15 Sebastian, I think she understands plenty."

Sebastian shakes his head, looking at the wall behind you, his own tears beginning to pool. "So, what?"

You sigh, stepping back. "I think its best if we break up." You whisper.

Sebastians eyes dart back to your own and he shakes his head. "No. No, I dont want you to go."

"Its whats best for Amalia, If she doesn't want me here then I'll go."

Sebastians bottom lip quivers a little bit before he sniffles and nods. "Okay." His voice breaks and it shatters your heart.

You nod and step over to the key chain and grabbing your car keys. "Bye Sebastian."

"Wait–" he quickly grabs your hand and spins you back towards him and pulling you into a hug. "I love you." He mutters.

You let your tears fall and he feels the wetness through his shirt. "I love you too." You whisper before backing up and making your way out the door.

"Bye." You whisper.

Sebastian raises his hand into a little wave. "Bye."

You leave, closing the door behind you and Sebastian lets out a shaky breath.

He stares at the door for a few seconds before wiping his tears and making his way up stairs and up to Amalia's room.

He leans on the door and knocka softly. "Amalia?"

"Go away." She mutters.

He opens the door and walks to her bed where his daughter is currently hiding under the blankets.

He sits on the edge of the bed and looks forward. "Shes gone." He mutters.

Amalia lifts the blanket from her face and looks up to see her dads back. "What do you mean?"

"We broke up, she's gone." He shrugs and Amalia moves to sit next to him.

She couldn't help but feel a wave of regret run through her but it only lasts a second before he shakes it off. "Well— good. We're better off without her anyway."

Sebastian swallows the lump in his throat. It's what's best for her. He looks over at his daughter with a best smile he could muster, a smile that didn't reach his eyes. "Yup." He mutters and Amalia looks up at him.

She spots the heartbroken look in his eyes, right through the fake smile. She couldn't help but think she shouldn't have said those things to or about you.

Sebastian sucks in a breath before rubbing his hands together. "Well, the day is young daughter, what do you wanna do?"

Amalia looks at him with a small hint of worry, he still had glossy eyes.

She knew she fucked up.
