- He's Back -

You laugh when you watch Dan trip up on the edge of the side walk before catching himself and stumbling forward.

He looks towards you with a smile before brushing his shoulder. "I meant to do that." He said, dragging out the I.

You chuckle, shaking your head as he holds out his arm.

"Shall we?"

You nod, linking your arm with his. "We shall." You begin to pull him towards the hotel where you're currently staying.

The two of you make it inside and you spot Serena making her way out. "Hey!"

The blonde smiles when she spots you before walking towards the two of you. "Hey! You guys having your weekly movie night?"

You nods, looking between Dan and Serena. Dan was staring at Serena in a dreamy haze, causing you to smirk.

Serena smile. "Thats awesome, what are you watching today?"

Dan balances back on the heel of his feet. "I think it was," he looks at you questionly, trying to remember the movie. "Star wars?"

You nod along with him, and Serena smiles.

"Thats cool, I uh- i gotta go, but you two have fun! It was nice seeing you again, we should catch up some time." She directs the last sentence towards you and you nod happily.

You and Dan wave goodbye before turning and heading towards the elevator, pressing the button to your floor.

"So, you and Serena."

Dans head snaps towards you. "Me- Me and Serena what?"

You roll your eyes. "C'mon, anyone could spot yours and her googly eyes from a mile away."

Dan shakes his head. "No- No. There was no googly eye-ing between anyone."

You scoff.

"Please, you guys are gonna get married one day. I know it," The elevator stops and opens, you softly push Dan out. "You just gotta grow some balls and ask her out."

Dan rolls his eyes and shakes his head before grabbing the extra key you gave him and unlocking your room. "Please, like she'll ever say yes."

You follow him inside, leaving the door open behind you -because you ordered a pizza and will need to go back out in a second- before spinning around. "Hah! So you do like her!"

Dan laughs a little before nodding slowly. "Maybe a little." He holds up his thumb and pointer finger about a centimeter apart.

You shake your head, walking towards him and grabbing his arms. You hold up his hands and spread them apart as far as they can. "There," you smile and he stands there confused. "Thats more accurate."

Dan scoffs dropping his hands and rolling his eyes. He's about to say something but someone clearing their throat makes you both jump.

You spin around and see someone you never thought you'd see again standing in the doorway.

"Carter?"

The man nods slowly. "Hey, Y/n."

You stare at him in shock. He looks so different. He's wearing a hoodie and sweatpants and he's grown out a stubble, his hair is no longer combed back like it used to be. Instead it was messy and fluffy.

Honestly? It suited him.

You snap out of your shock before opening your mouth. "What- you're here."

He nods, looking between you and Dan. "I'm here." He smiles slightly.

Things didn't end very well between the two of you when he left. He wanted you to come with him but your life was here  and you were still in highschool. So of course, a verbal fight blossomed from your disagreements and it ended with the two of you in tears and him slamming the door and you haven't seen him...until now.
