The Boy Next Door

ch.20

Buzz. Buzz. Buzz. I groan and roll over on my bed and look at my phone seeing that Kat is calling me.

"Hello?" I groggily say into the phone.

"Jules wake up!!! It's the first day of school!!" She practically screams in my ear, how is she so hyper?

"I don't want to." I groan and sit up.

"Come on sleepy head, I'll pick you up at 7:15!" I look at the clock, it's 6:15 now.

"Alright see you then." We say our goodbyes and hang up. The first day of school is always hard.

I slowly get out of bed and walk over to my closet and gets an outfit for today, which consists of: black shorts, combat boots, a flannel and a white tank top that says, "Forever Young". I put my hair in a pony tail, did my make-up, and walked downstairs with my backpack. I told my parents goodbye and walked outside to Kat's car and sees Nate walk out of his house in black jeans, and a white t-shirt. "Man I am so lucky," I thought to myself.

"Come on babe!" I call to him and giggle when he comes running over here, and we get in the backseat of Kat's car.

"Good morning love." I smile at her in her rearview mirror. "Good morning to you too Zayn." I smile at him as well.

"Good morning gorgeous! And to you too Nate." She giggles and turns on the radio, as Zayn says good morning, and we head off to school.

Once we get to school Kat has to find a parking spot, which is always a struggle with so many kids at this school. We find one and we all get out and walk inside. Nate puts his arm around my waist and we all walk in.

"I'll see you later guys!" I tell Kat and Zayn, and Nate and I head over to our first hour.

We sit down next to each other and I look around at the people in my class, I can't complain about who is in here, except maybe Amanda. She's basically the school queen bee, she's on the JV Cheerleading squad and thinks she owns the place. And she always has a different boy toy with her. I look over to see her eyeing Nate, "Oh great, she better not get any ideas," I think to myself.

My first day at school has finished. I am currently waiting for Nate at his locker. I smile when I see him running up to me all sweaty, he has gym last hour.

"Babe guess what?!" I giggle at his excitement.

"What love?" I smile up at him.

"So, I met these really awesome guys in gym and they said I should try out for football next week! And I met this really sweet girl named Amanda, who invited me to the party next weekend, she says she hopes I make the team."

My stomach dropped when he said the last part, Amanda? Sweet? Party? That doesn't sound like it's a good idea.

"That's great Nate, I hope you make the team as well"

"Thanks baby." he smiles and pecks my lips and gets his stuff out of his locker and we walk to Kat's car, and I was silent the whole way home. I get out when Kat drops us off, and walks to my house and hears Nate call my name.

"Hey love, I'll see you later ok?" He smiles and pecks my lips softly. I nod and say ok, and walk inside my house and up to my room. I don't like the way this year is starting, but maybe I'm just jumping to conclusions.
