The Boy Next Door

ch.16

We left the lake house early in the morning, and everyone was still half asleep. Well except Mason since he was the one driving. I ended up falling asleep on Nate's shoulder, until we were dropping off Zayn, and Kat at her house, and we said our good-byes. Mason drives to her house, at Charlie's request. Nate drove, as I sit in the passenger seat.

"Ugh, this cast is already annoying." He smiles, and takes my hand in his.

"It's alright babe, you only have to wear it for a little while."  I sigh.

"But school starts next month.." Wow.. school starts next month.

Nate pulls into my driveway,

"It's ok, i will walk you to all of your classes." he smiles, and gets my crutches from the back, and comes around, and opens my door/

"You don't even know your schedule though." I smile up at him, as he helps me out of the car,

"It doesn't matter what my schedule is, i will still walk you to all of your classes." He smiles widely at me, and kisses my forehead.  I roll my eyes, and giggle,

"So cheesy." He chuckles, and grabs my suitcase from the back of the car, and helps me inside and upstairs. We get to my room, and i start slowly unpacking, because i have to limp everywhere. Nate chuckles under his breath, and i face him, and put my hands on my hips,

"What are you laughing at Wilson?"  He grins down at me.

"Oh, nothing..."

"Hmm sure.. stop laughing at me. It's not nice especially since I'm crippled." I try to keep a serious face, and he holds up his hands in surrender,

"Ok... here I will help you unpack. Just sit down, you aren't supposed to be walking on your foot yet." He smiles and pecks my lips softly, and sits me down on my bed.

Nate has to go home after he helps me unpack to get himself unpacked at his house. I grab my book on my beside table that I'm supposed to read for school. I start to read the first chapter, but i get interrupted by someone calling me. So, I set my book down, and see that it is Kat calling me. I answer,

"Hey Kat! What's up?" I giggle because i literally just saw her a few hours ago.

"Jules, you will never believe what i just saw, and heard." Confused i sit up,

"What happened? What did you see?" I can hear her breathing sort of heavily, she must be walking, or jogging.

"It was Scott, Jules. I saw him in Charlie's living room talking to her. I had went to the bathroom at her house, and I guess he came while i was in there, and so I listened to what they were talking about." My eyes go wide, and my heart starts to pound.

"What did they say, Kat?" I asked anxiously. She takes a deep breath, and i hear someone walk inside, and I see Kat at my bedroom door eyes wide. I look at her, and hang up the phone, as she does the same coming to sit on my bed.

"They were talking about you.. Scott was angry at her, and he said,

'Why did you let them to get her?', and Charlie said,

'I tried to hold them up as long as I could, but that stupid bitch called Nate asking for help.' and so he replied with,

'Well, we need to plan to get her again, she will be mine.' and that's all I heard, before I snuck out.." she looked at me concerned, and held my hand. I don't know what to think...I look at her with wide eyes, and confusion,

"So, she was helping Scott get to me?" She thinks I'm a stupid bitch? I look down hurt. That is a hurtful betrayal. Kat nods, and hugs me. I hug her back, and rest my chin on her shoulder.

"I'm going to talk to her... confront her about it.. tomorrow."
