~Things that go Bump in the Night~

It was picth black in the forest so we made it just time to the cabin as the monster started to come out from the dark corners of the woods. We entered the cozy cabin that was tucked away in this dark and creepy forest during the walk over we didn't say a word to each other now that we in Vaati's cabin it dawned on me that I didn't ask him why he has a cabin in this kind of place. The outside of the cabin looked small but once inside it is much more spacious than it seems.

"Well than are you hungry Y/n? It was a stressful trip for you I'm sure." Vaati said as he walked to the kitchen "Just make yourself at home, I have some left over that I can heat up if that's ok with you?" He got a fire going and started to prep the food "Yes that's fine with me!" You said you held your stomach not realizing how hungry you've gotten being lost and chased really does make you hungry as it turns out! " I'll set your table! Where are you're dishes?" You said wanting to help as soon as possible it was the least you could do anyway.

"Y/n you're my guest you don't..." "But I want to!!" You said interrupting him you accidentally leaned in closer to him so your shoulders were touching and you were almost cheek to cheek. After looking at his beautifully surprised red eye and light blush staining his cheeks you realized what you were doing your face turned red and you quickly backed up "Oops s sorry!! I didn't mean...!" Vaati looked a little shocked at first but then suddenly he laughed a little not in a obnoxious way but in a light and soft way. Y/n felt her face heat up with blush even more as she looked on "If you must help, the plates are in the cabinet over there." Vaati gave you a cute smile and went back to take care of the food and Y/n nodded wordless and set the small table.

After eating Vaati showed Y/n to the guest bedroom, the cabin was full of books that seemed to litter ever corner of the place it was almost like a mini maze. "I apologized for the mess, it's not often that I get visitors." Vaati said with a light blush embarrass with the mess his cabin was in " That's alright Vaati. The guest bedroom seems surprisingly clean and I could help you organize your books if you need help." Y/n said with hopes to get to know Vaati a little more, over dinner Y/n learned that he was studying monsters and magic which was way he lived in the forest (or so he claims...) And Y/n was curious about the handsome man and wanted to know more but Vaati said to have work and lead Y/n to the guest bedroom because it was nighttime and figured she would like to sleep.

The two awkwardly stood infront the bedroom "Sleep well Y/n I must go to my work now." Vaati said "My office is down this hall if you need anything. And tomorrow I'll make sure you get back safely okay?" Y/n nods "Okay, good night Vaati don't work too hard... and thanks." You smile softly at Vaati, he smiled back and walks away to his study while you watch him and close your door. The bedroom was clean and almost seems unused it was strange how his cabin was full of books but this room was clean. You enter the neat bed and are surprised but as lush and cozy it is and fall asleep almost instantly even though you thought you wouldn't be able to sleep well at all in a bed you've never slept in before.

Thunk! You awoke with a start it was dark in the room you couldn't see a thing! Unsure of what time it was or how long you were sleeping you bolted straight up in bed at the noise. As you look around the room squirting and blinking waiting for your eyes to adjust to the dark you saw the door open and a shadow appear "V Va Vaati? Is that you?" You and the shadow had a mini stare down when the shadow sighed

"Did Vaati kidnapped another girl again? Old habits die hard I guess..." He mumbled to himself the light turns on and you finally see the mysterious shadow's face. He had purple hair and crimson red eyes and pale gray skin and he wore a black tonic. He was cute and oddly like you've seen him before but you couldn't place your finger on where. "What did you say?! And who are you?!" Y/n said in a panic and jumped out of bed he laughed at her "Didn't Vaati tell you about me? How rude of him to forget since I was out doing errands for him!" He shook his head and smirked "My name is Shadow Link! Just call me Shadow you better not forget it either!" Shadow declares proudly "So who are you? And how did Vaati snatch ya up?" Shadow asked this with a troublesome glint in his eyes.

Before I could get over my shock and answer him a hand grabbed Shadow and pulled him out of the doorway "What do you think you're doing?!" Vaati said angry "You should know better Shadow!" Vaati glared at him "What type of thanks is this? After I go and do your errands for you and everything!" Shadow said sarcastically Vaati eye darker as he just glared harder in answer "What?! I was just curious! You can't blame me for checking..." Shadow scrambled to defend himself "It's okay Vaati I'm sure he just didn't know that I was here in the first place!" Vaati and Shadow looked over to you Vaati sighed and shook his head and released Shadow from his grip "Alright fine than. Y/n it's still nighttime why don't you go back to sleep. I'm sorry he woke you up like that I'll repay you in the morning, night." Vaati closed the door abruptly and while he did Shadow wink and I was left alone in the room again as I heard them walk away.
