Jimin sits on their bed and stares at the wall. He's been thinking everything over and maybe Jungkook is right. Maybe he was trying to ruin the party.
After all, there really was no way for him to know who was in the basement. It really could've been a wandering drunk or someone who got curious and wanted to look around.
The only thing that doesn't make sense is how the door got locked. He wants to check the cameras, but he's too scared to.
There's a knock on the door and Jimin sits up a little bit straigther. "Jungkook?"
The door opens and it's Juliet. "Hey. I know you probably don't want to talk to me, but I wanted to come check on you... I overheard your fight."
Jimin's shoulders drop and he looks away. "We'll be okay..."
"I honestly couldn't give two shits about your relationship. I want to know if you're gonna be okay."
Jimin shrugs. "Who knows. Apparently I'm going insane."
"I don't think you are."
Jimin looks at her. "Really?"
"After you went upstairs, I went into the basement. I couldn't hear any noise from upstairs. If you heard something, it was in the basement."
Jimin feels the hair on the back of his neck stand up, but he shakes the feeling away. "It could've been anyone."
"One of the windows was open. The sensor was snapped off."
Jimin freezes. "You saw it?"
"I took a photo."
Jimin pulls his phone out and goes to the security app. "We can check the cameras. We can see who locked me down there and whoever was walking around."
Juliet takes a few steps forward and Jimin scoots over so she can sit down. She smiles and crawls in, plopping down next to him.
As they're scanning through the camera footage, Juliet starts apologizing. "I understand why you said you're stressed now... I shouldn't have snapped at you like I did. I'm sorry."
Jimin rests his head on her shoulder. "It's okay. It's hard to understand until you experience it. I just hope we're still friends."
"Of course we are."
The finally find the spot in the footage where Jimin goes into the basement. After a few seconds, A random guy in a suit walks up with his back to the camera. He locks the door and walks towards the front door. He clearly knows where the cameras are because he never shows his face.
When he walks outside, Jimin switches to the outside camera footage. He walks around the house, keeping his eyes on the ground. He gets to a basement window and grabs a small pair of wire clippers and a screwdriver. He expertly knocks off the sensor.
He opens the window slowly and crawls in. Jimin and Juliet both hit the basement cameras button at the same time. He walks through the basement slowly, checking every nook and cranny.
Juliet frowns. "What is he doing?"
"Looking for me... If he locked me down there, he was trying to get me alone."
Juliet puts a comforting arm around his shoulders and they continue watching. In the background of one of the camera shots, they see Jimin run up the stairs. They go back to where the guy was and he's standing still. After a few seconds, he turns towards the stairs and starts walking faster. Before he can reach them, he turns around and runs back towards the open window.
He jumps out and runs towards the back fence, jumping over and out of sight of the cameras.
Jimin drops the phone. "I was right. There was an intruder and Jungkook called me a liar."
