Daddy

I walked into the house and my moms car was gone. Damien was sitting on the couch with Travis when I walked in.

"Addi I'm sorry about jas she had no right to say that shit to you"

I looked at Travis and walked into the livingroom and sat down in the chair across from the couch.

"Not your fault Travis. I've been friends with jas for as long as I can remember and she's always been like this. You get used to it after a while."

"You shouldn't have to addi"

I shrugged my shoulders and gave him a smile reassuring him I was okay.

"Where's my mom"
"Girls trip she said she will be back tomorrow probably around three."

I shook my head okay when my phone started ringing

"Hello"
"Hi is this Adalyn Montgomery?"

The voice was a womens one I never heard before.

"Yes"
"Hi this is the general hospital do you know a Fred Montgomery"

My heart sank and I knew what was coming. My voice was barely a whisper.

"Y-yes my dad is he okay"
"You need to come down to the hospital as soon as you can"
"Is my dad okay"
"Just come as soon as you can"

The line went dead and I ran out of the house jumping into my car and taking off down the road. I didn't wait to even look at Damien or Travis. I just had to go. Please be okay dad please be okay please it's not time yet. We still have so much to do and work on together.

It's like I was saying a mantra. I was saying that on repeat until I pulled into the parking lot and jumping out of my car and running towards the hospital door. Damien and Travis followed me and was right behind my heel. I didn't even look to see whose car they took.

"Fred Montgomery I got a call"

The nurse looked at me and hit the button buzzing me in. I didn't wait I ran through the door and my uncle was standing there.

"Uncle tom where's my dad"

He looked at me with this look I only remember seeing when my grandma died. He just looked at me.

"NO!"
"Adalyn honey"
"WHAT HAPPENED"

I couldn't stop the tears they were already covering my face. My uncle grabbed me. I tried to push him off of me punching his chest.

"No no no no where's my dad what happened"

Everyone had tears in their eyes as they watched me screaming for my dad. My uncle looked at Damien and Damien looked at him.

"Come on honey"

My uncle took me into a room where my dad was still laying in the bed. He was pale and still. His lips were purple. I ran over grabbing my dads hand. Cold. His hand was so cold.

"Daddy wake up"

I was crying and punching his chest trying to get him to wake up. He wouldn't move. His body was hard and I could feel the coldness on my fists through his hospital gown. My uncle couldn't handle seeing me full force breakdown begging for a dad to come back who was never even there. He ran out of the room with tears in his eyes and he was trying to control his breathing.

Damien ran in with Travis and Travis shut the door.

"Baby"

I turned around to see Damien and Travis in the room. Travis didn't looked fazed Damien just called me baby but I was in no situation to question anything.
