never seen you before
shin minseo
"minseo!" i run up and thank the barista for my coffee as i pick it off the counter. I grab a straw and begin making my way towards the salon. it's about a 10 minute walk from the coffee shop to the salon, plenty of time to view the scenery of this beautiful campus. the campus i'll never get the chance to attend. i sigh and push my depressing thoughts back as i speed up my pace.
"minseo? is that you?" i hear a smooth voice yell from behind me. i turn around to be met with jungkook's purple hair. "hey minseo! what are you doing here?" he asks as he begins to catch up to me.
"going to the salon, same old same old." i laugh and continue walking. a bit weird that he came up to me outside of the salon. "i walk this way every morning." my eyes scan the sky.
"really? i've never seen you before, I walk it every day too."
"i guess we've just missed each other every time." i shrug. "hows your hair holding up?" i ask, feeling a little awkwardness between us.
"it's great! it's definitely doing what i got it for." he nods happily.
"that's good..." i trail off.
"aren't you gonna ask me why i dyed my hair?" he questions while looking over at me with a smile.
"i usually don't ask, but if you would like to tell me that's fine." i laugh wondering why he wants me to ask. i hardly know him.
"sheesh fine. you don't want to know." he pouts a little.
"well i hardly know you, i usually just do hair and that's that."
"well maybe you need to change that." he stops walking and grabs my arm.
"what the-"
"sorry, you were walking past the salon." he laughs and my cheeks glow a bright red. i wasn't even watching where i was going. "anyway, i'm throwing a party tonight, you should come." he leans up against the brick.
"oh, no i don't go to parties." i say as i rummage through my bag for the salon key.
"well you need to change that too, come on, it'll be fun." he smirks at me. "you don't even need to drink, just show up and have a good time."
"i don't know, jungkook. i don't even go to this school, i just work here." i unlock the door and make my way inside, of course he follows.
"think about it." he grabs my phone off the counter. "here, i put my number in. if you change your mind shoot me a text and i'll come pick you up." i don't know what would change my mind, but okay. "ill see you around, min." and with that, he's gone. I look at my phone and see the contact name he gave himself: jungkook ;).
what a flirt. i roll my eyes and begin preparing to open the salon.

the day was uneventful. I had two trims in my appointment book, and the rest of the day was spent watching my favorite show behind the counter. I look at the time on my phone. 5:06. closing time. as i make my way to lock the door, i see jimin running down the side walk.
"baby, sorry i'm late again. there is some event going on down the street and they wouldn't let me through." he explains out of breath. i grin at him and pull him in so i can lock the door.
"it's fine, jimin. how was your day." i ask as he pulls me into a sweet kiss.
"better now that i'm here." he smiles and rubs his nose against mine before setting our food on the table. "how was yours? anything interesting happen?"
"not really, just two haircuts." i shrug. "i've been watching my show all day" he looks up at me in anger.
"what? we're supposed to watch that together." he furrows his brows at me.
"jimin, i only watched a few episodes..." i trail off unsure as to why he seems genuinely upset.
"since when did you start doing things without me?" he accuses.
"what? jimin i-"
"no minseo, you knew we were watching that together." he stands up, towering over me.
"jimin it's just a show. what is wrong with you right now?" my face contorts in worry.
"what's wrong with me? how about what's wrong with you? what happened to us watching it together?" he throws his arms up in the air in anger. i've never seen him this mad before.
"we can rewatch the episodes, it's not a big deal." i state, trying to get him out of this rage fit.
"that's not what this is about. this is how it starts, you start doing the things we do together alone. and then we break up." he shouts with tears filling in his eyes. and then i remember his last relationship. he always told me she screwed him up, i've never really seen how until now.
"no jimin it's not like that, you know how boring it gets in here. it doesn't mean i want to start watching it alone." I reassure him. I walk up to him to hug him but he pushes me away.
"i can't right now, min. you know what happened to me. you can't just do things like that and expect me to not have a reaction. i'm leaving." he shakes his head at me, tears going down his face as he grabs his food and runs out the door. i feel terrible, i didn't mean to scare him like that. i know he won't want me following him, so i send him an apology text, and tell him to come back when he's ready. he reads it, but doesn't respond.

one hour goes by. still nothing from jimin.
-
two more hours. its 8 pm and still nothing from jimin. i begin to believe he won't be coming back tonight. he usually drives me from the salon to my apartment, with him not being here i guess i have to walk. i sit in the salon for a few more minutes, any woman would dread walking alone at night. i can't believe he'd actually leave me to walk. after a few more minutes of contemplation, i remember the conversation i had with jungkook earlier.
jungkook ;)
jungkook? it's minseo, i need a ride.
deciding to take me up on my offer?
no, a ride home. not to the party. if that's okay with you.
sure, i'll take you home.
after you come to the party.
really jungkook?
yeah, i told you to text me about the party
not to take you home. so we can compromise
and do both.
whatever.
great! i'll be there in 20.

i am so going to regret this.
