"i don't know, they're throwing some halloween party." i announce as i plop onto my bed.

"ooh! what are you dressing up as?" moon asks with excitement on our facetime call.

"i wasn't gonna go." i admit.

"what? you have too!" she furrows her eyebrows.

"i'm around the boys twenty-four-seven, every time i see them i feel like i'm working. i just want a day off." i yawn.

"who said you had to hang out with them? they're like famous so aren't they gonna invite a bunch of other hot idols?" i roll my eyes at her.

"believe it or not i've had my fill of hot idols." i take a sip from my water bottle.

"you mean your fill of jungkook last month... literally..." she jokes causing me to choke on my water.

"why do i tell you anything." i complain once i finally stop choking. she laughs.

"because you love me. anyways, i'm going to bed, but you're going to that party so start looking for a costume. i'll talk to you tomorrow!" I giggle and wave goodbye to her as she hangs up the call. i rest my phone on my stomach and stare at my ceiling. maybe it wouldn't be such a bad thing to go to a party, i don't have to hang out with the boys. i think to myself. i groan as i drag myself off of the bed and over to my computer to get costume ideas.

"nurse... no. witch... definitely not. a fairy? that's actually kinda cute..." i talk quietly to myself as i scroll through some costumes landing on a cute fairy dress. it was an ombre of orange and yellow, strapless, and skin tight. it fell right above the knee, and came with gorgeous sheer red wings. a million ideas running through my head, of course, about what i would do with my hair.

"maybe red to match the wings? yes definitely." i say to myself once again.

"who are you talking to?" taehyung pops his head in my door causing me to jump.

"shit you scared me... i'm talking to... myself." i laugh.

"about what?"

"my halloween costume."

"oh dope, the guys and i are going as the seven dwarves." he smiles widely.

"of course you are." i laugh at him.

"does this mean you're coming to our party?" his eyes widen.

"yes, but i'm not hanging out with you." i laugh again and he frowns. "i'm actually gonna color my hair real quick if you wanna watch." i tell him as i make my way to the door. he nods and follows me to the bus salon.

-

"i think that's the brightest red i've ever seen... put it on my hair." taehyung says as he grabs a handful of my newly colored hair.

"shouldn't you ask juno first?" i raise my eyebrow at him.

"it's halloween, i'm sure he'll under-"

"minseo? are you in here?" jungkooks voice echos through the salon as he makes eye contact with me.

"no." i joke.

"woah." he says looking at my hair. "what's that for?" he walks over.

"halloween." taehyung answers for me. "and she was about to do my hair so scram." he lightly pushes jungkook.

"jungkook have you seen my- woah." jimin walks into the room and stops when he sees my hair.

"am i the only one in this room that hasn't dated minseo?" taehyung blurts out and starts making finger guns. we all stay silent. "oh come on that was hilarous." he pouts, earning a giggle from me as i lean him back and start washing his hair.

"anyways, what did you need, jungkook?" i ask him, wondering why he was looking for me.

"i uh... i forgot." he says as he quickly leaves the room. i look over at jimin, confused. he shrugs his shoulders at me and walks away.

"that was weird..." i mutter.

the sound of loud music fills my ears as i make my way up to the hotel. the boys rented out and entire hotel for this party. paparazzi surrounded it, flashing lights, and tons of security. it was honestly insane. at this point i was rethinking my decision to go, wishing that moon could be here with me. i take one last deep breath before pushing open the doors to the hotel lobby. even the lobby was flooded with people i've never seen in my entire life, dancing on each other. taehyung had told me earlier that they would be on the tenth floor. and although i had the overwhelming urge to go there and sit with the boys, i decided against it. i wanted to branch out.

so here i am in the elevator with like five drunk couples making out, on my way to the fifth floor just to check it out. after what felt like ages, the doors open to the fifth floor. as i step out i hear loud laughter and singing. i look around and see a karaoke stage, and a ton of people standing by it. seeing no familiar faces, i decide to try to insert myself in the crowd. i grab a glass of wine off the table and squeeze in between the crowd. not even one minute in, i hear a voice calling for me.

"hey! you're minseo, right?" the man grabs my shoulder to turn me around. i look at him with wide eyes.

"i am... why?" i ask confused.

"everyone knows about you." he laughs.

"what do you mean?"

"you know, the girl who got dumped by jeon jungkook and now works for him cause she can't bear to be without him." he adds a whiny pout to the end of the sentence. i feel my face turn bright red.

"that's not true..." i mumble.

"what? i couldn't hear you over your desperation." he laughs even louder. i feel my eyes burning with tears. i push him out of the way and run towards the stairwell. quickly shutting the door behind me. what the hell. i take a few deep breaths trying to keep the tears from falling. after a few seconds, i make my way back down to the lobby. i push my way through to the exit, sighing in relief when the fresh air reaches my lungs.

"hey, where are you going?" a familiar voice calls. i look over to see jungkook standing there, wearing a goofy dwarf costume.

"home." i tell him.

"why? the party just started." he furrows his brows in confusion.

"no reason, just tired." i tell him.

"why is your face red?"

"it's not."

"it is." he starts walking towards me.

"jungkook, leave me alone." i say harshly. he backs away. "i'm sorry..." i trail off.

"did someone say something to you?" he asks.

"oh so you do know." i grit my teeth.

"i know there's some people here who don't particularly like you." he admits. "but they're just jealous."

"jealous of a girl who hangs around her ex? unlikely." i roll my eyes at him. his face is covered with sorrow. "don't look at me like that... like you feel bad for me. we both chose our career over our relationship."

"well for what it's worth, i'm a guy who hangs around his ex." he laughs sheepishly.

"i'll consider laughing at that if you'd tell your friends to leave me alone."

"rodger that." he salutes and cheerfully runs inside, clearly trying to make me laugh. i shake my head, letting out a small giggle. i watch as he disappears into the crowd, and with that i turn around and begin walking to the bus.
