Chapter 9: Return to Him

Two months later.......

The trial hadn't started yet for Sofia Kozar. I was still learning how to walk again. I was getting there. I now able to support myself with two bars. It was very frustrating when I couldn't move my legs. My trainer told me that I was making progress faster than other people that she worked with.

I was in the library reading a book. Reading became a hobby for me. I would read different kinds of books. I read short stories to textbooks. I would come to the library on my free time to relax. Sometimes, time went so fast.

knock...knock...

I looked up to see Lana at the door. "What is it Lana?" I asked her. She looked from the hallway to me. "Prince Ivan is here," she said to me. I was surprised and shocked at the same time. "Prince Ivan?" I said in a question. {Why is he here?}

Lana moved away from the doorway. Then, I saw Prince Ivan at the doorway with Mikhail. I could see in his eyes the worry. I saw Lana walking away with Mikhail. Prince Ivan and I were alone. Prince Ivan made his way towards me slowly.

"Beverly?" he said my name. Once he stood in front of me, he went down on one knee to be at my height. I could feel tears forming in my eyes. He placed a hand on my cheek. I felt my love for him being reborn.

I was so overwhelmed with emotions that I started to cry in front of him. I was so happy that he was here. I felt him wiping my tears away. "I'm so sorry Beverly. Please forgive me," I heard him say. I had thought about this many times.

"I don't think that I'm the best for your kingdom at the moment. I'm broken your highness as you can see," I said to him formally. I open my eyes to see him shaking his head. "I still see you as beautiful as the day that I first met you," he said to me. He held my hands.

"Please. Will you return to Sanct Sybil with me?" he asked me. I looked at him. "What about the people?" I asked him. "The people missed you very much. They wished for you to return," he said to me. {Really?}

I really wanted to be with him, but I was afraid. "I don't care that you are broken. I still love you the way that you are. Please. Come home with me," he said to me. I could see that he really wanted me to go back to Sanct Sybil with him.

I nodded my head. I could see Prince Ivan giving me a smile. This was the Prince Ivan who I grown to love and miss. Prince Liam turned his head towards the door. "Mikhail," he called out to him. Mikhail appeared at the doorway.

"Please get the car ready," Prince Ivan said to him. "Yes your highness,' Mikhail said and walked away. "What about my stuff?" I said to him. Prince Ivan looked at me. "I talked to your brother about it. He said that he will send it over at a later time," he explained to me. "Oh. Okay," I said to him.

Prince Ivan brushed a piece of hair away from my face. "Don't be formal with me," he said to him. I gave him a nod. "Okay Ivan," I said to him.

After a while, Mikhail came back to tell us that the car was ready. Prince Ivan pushed my wheelchair to the car. My brother and Lana gave me a hug. My brother walked up to Prince Ivan. "Please take good care of her," he said to him.

"I will. I will take good care of her, love her, and protect her with my life. You have my word," Ivan said to him. They shook their hands. I could tell that my brother approve him. In a way, he was giving Ivan his blessing.

Ivan helped me into the car. Mikhail packed my wheelchair in the back. Ivan got into the car and did my seatbelt for me. Soon, we were off at the airport. Once at the airport, Mikhail got out of the car and setup my wheelchair.

Ivan got out of the car and went on the other side. He opened the door and undid my seatbelt. He lifted me out of the car and set me down on the wheelchair. "Thank you," I said to him. Ivan gave me a smile.

Ivan wheeled me all the way to the plane. Ivan lifted me again and walked up the stairs. He placed me on my seat and we were off to Sanct Sybil. I was getting a bit sleepy. "Go to sleep," I heard Ivan say to me.

I nodded my head. I rest my head on his shoulder. I closed my eyes and tried to sleep. It had been an interesting day. I felt something cover me. I was guessing that it was a blanket. Soon, I drifted off into a deep sleep.

Several hours later.....

I felt someone shaking me. "We're home," I heard Ivan whisper to me. I removed my head from his shoulder and rubbed my eyes. I looked out of the window to see that it was snowing a little bit. Usually, when I was here, it would have been sunny.

After dressing into some warm clothes, Ivan helped me out of the plane to the car. We drove off towards the fortress. We had to head into the city in order to get to the fortress. I knew that I would be seeing many people.

In the city, we saw people on the road waving their hands. I saw signs that welcomed me back to the kingdom. I was overwhelmed by the welcome. Ivan and I waved at the people. I was feeling tears forming.

Soon, we got to the fortress. I saw many of the workers outside waiting for us. We parked in front of the steps. Mikhail got out and got the wheelchair. Ivan helped me out of the car. He lift me up and placed me in the wheelchair. Luckily, there was a wheelchair ramp for me.

Ivan wheeled me inside the fortress. 'Welcome back Lady Beverly," everyone said to me. All I could do was smile at them. I could see that they were happy to see me back. I was getting many flashbacks. They were all good memories.

Ivan wheeled me to his room. He opened the door and Urey and Snieg ran towards me. They started to jump and lick me. "I miss you both so much," I said to them. I pet their heads. I could see that Snieg missed me the most.

Ivan wheeled me to the bed. He lifted me from the wheelchair to the bed. {Why am I on his bed?} After a while, I saw that Prince Ivan had changed his clothes. He had some of my clothes be brought so that I could change.

He had a maid help me change in his bathroom. Once I was done, the maid wheeled me to his bed. She left us alone. Ivan lifted me off the wheelchair to the bed again. Ivan wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

"I missed you so much," he said to me. I kissed him on the cheek. "I missed you too," I said to him. After a while, dinner was brought to his room. We had a romantic dinner in bed. We would feed each other food. It gave me back many memories.

We talked about many things. We had so much time to catch up. I looked at the time to se that it was time for me to go to bed. I was about to get out of bed when I felt Ivan's arm around my waist. "Where do you think your going?" he asked me.

I turned my head towards him. "To go to my room to sleep," I said to him. "No your not. You are going to sleep here," he said to me. I gave him a nod. I got comfortable on his bed. I looked to see that Urey and Snieg sleeping next to each other.

Ivan turned the lights off. He pulled me closer to him. I could hear his heart beating. Soon, I fell into a dreamless sleep.
