KATES POV:
I know he'll find me here, and I want him to. I mean I'm hurt about what he said, but I knew he didn't mean it that way.
I mean let's face I was a hot mess. A very HOT one, because I mean did you see my outfit?
My first instinct was to go home, but honestly I wanted to go to the road. I want him to come talk to me. And if he never comes then I will just chill out here and go buy ice cream.
"Penny for your thoughts?"
Okay act like you don't want him here.
I just keep on playing with grass and say,"What do you want Tyler?"
"To apologize, I didn't mean you were a mess or that you were someone's possession; I meant that he was a terrible friend to you and he has no right to be mad at me for not leaving you there like he did."
That's when I decide to look in his deep brown eyes and say,"Why did you Tyler, I mean we've barely spoken before that night and it was in like middle school. Why all of a sudden have interest in me?"
He just looks at me more intense than I am at him, because apparently that's possible.
"Because you're different."
When I don't respond he adds,"Because you're not like other girls I've been with. You didn't want me for my looks or body. In fact, you didn't even want me in the same bed!"
When I giggle he just smiles even wider and says,"You're not like the other girls around here, you're different. And I want different. I need different."
Woah.
Trying to break the sorta awkwardness I say,"Well consider yourself forgiven. I know you didn't mean it like that, and how could I be mad at you when you saved me Saturday night?"
He just smirks and says,"Yeah you still owe me for that."
I just laugh and say,"Oh really? How am I supposed to do that?"
He smirks even wider and says,"I could think of ways."
I scrunch my face in disgust."Ew don't make me barf."
He just laughs and says,"See? Now you're definitely different. No girl has ever been disgusted by me."
I just laugh and shake my head. The ego on this kid.
TYLERS POV:
After she's forgiven me it feels like a whole weight has been lifted upon my shoulders.
I really like her.
As a friend of course. I mean I've only known her for 3 days.
But she surely is different. And it makes me her like her so much more.
For a while, we just sit there and talk about well almost everything.
I make fun of the way she says stuff like the word foil. She pronounces it (Foy-yul) like who says it like that?
She makes fun of the way I run. She says and I quote,"You look like you just got butt implants and you're trying to 'shimmy' them in place."
That's just mean.
But its so weird. We're just sitting here talking. I'm not wondering what she's wearing under those skinny jeans or how good she's gonna be. I'm just having a conversation with her that doesn't involve sex or anything near it. I'm getting to know her, and I love that idea.
So yeah this is weird and I'm not getting any, but she's worth it.
She's Different.
