"Friends"

This has to be the most awkward car ride ever.

Ever since he almost kissed me we haven't said a word.

Well at least I'll be a legend for being the only girl that hung out with Tyler Hayes and didn't fuck him.

"We're here I'll see you at school."

He just somewhat smiles and nods.

I just get out the car and don't say a word.

And the fact that I have three classes with this kid doesn't help.

I wake up to my alarm and groan because I really don't want to start this day.

Once I'm done getting dress I flat iron my hair then curl the ends.

At least I'll look decent.

As I pick up the keys for my beige 2014 Altima I tell my dad goodbye and head out for school.

Ugh I hate school. The slut population is practically the whole school and then there's the like 10% that are virgins for life that judge us for not being virgins.

Great. I'm here.

As I get out I see my friends Sydney, Ashlyn and Danny.

I haven't talked to him since he ditched me.

I wasn't planning on it either so I just walk past them to go to my class.

As I get into advanced math I see him.

When he sees me he just smiles and pats to the desk beside him.

Ohh Claire's gonna be pissed.

Let's see...sit by Tyler, the ultimate slut, or Danny who I hate at the moment.

At least if I sit by Tyler I'll have a good time.

"Hey.", he says happy I chose to sit with him.

"Hey." I say awkwardly because of last night.

"Look about last night, it's not that I didn't want to kiss you."

Umm

"It's because I didn't want this to be awkward. I would like to be friends."

"Oh you would now?"

"Yep.", he says popping the p.

"Wow Tyler Hayes actually wants to hang out with a girl and not have sex interesting."

He just gives me a 'screw you' look and I burst out laughing.

That's when he smiles and says,"so are we good?"

"Yeah."

"Um what the hell are you doing?"

Trying to hold in a laugh I say,"Oh hey Claire! Just sitting down like you're supposed to do when you go to class."

She just huffs and says,"I know but why are you in mine?!?"

"I was just guessing you had a "busy night" so I assumed you weren't coming. Don't worry there's one over there." I point to a seat by a very mad Danny.

Oops?

When the teacher comes in she tells Claire to go sit down and she just stomps her way to the seat by Danny.

My day might be good after all.

Man I can't focus because every five seconds Tyler's either poking me or saying inappropriate things in my ear.

Trying not to laugh I tell him to stop hopefully convincing him I'm not amused, but it didn't work.

After that class the first half of school flew by and it was time for lunch.

I go to my locker to see Ashlyn waiting on me.

"Hey where's Sydney?"

Ashlyn's face just kinda fell,"she went with Danny."

"Oh y'all know?"

She just kinda nods."He feels really bad."

"I don't care."

She just sighs and says,"Well they're waiting for us to go sit down."

"Well she's not going to eat with y'all today."

Is he everywhere?

Ashlyn just raises her eyebrow and say,"That's funny when did y'all become friends?"

"When her "best friend" left her drunk at a party. No telling what could've happened if I wouldn't have saved her."

Yeah he's such a hero.

"Well I'm going are you sure you don't want to come Kate?"

I just stand there for a second then finally say,"I think I'm going to eat with Tyler today."

She just kinda sighs and says,"ok."

After she walks away he starts walking out of school.

"Where are you going?"

He just does that famous smirk and says,"You didn't think we were actually going to eat did you?"
