The stars in your eyes couldn't compare to the sky
How bright they are, love—I don't feel alone when you're by
And why is that? Maybe it's because you told me so
How a thousand fireflies lived so you could grow
The light of your smile couldn't compare to the dark
How blinding is your love and how warm is your spark
There's no end for us—I'll pray to the heavens for such
Would fate and chance entwine so our plan could hatch?
I have walked miles with sorrow as my only friend
Has it been yours too? Tell me up to what end
Because I would gladly wipe the tears flowing as of late
So, darling, revel in my love like we're seventy-eight

Through the skies and the earths, look only at me
I promise to smile for you, ease the burden you carry
It would be hard—bonds and vows are rarely so easy
So join me in our strength so we could reach eternity
With my whole heart, I vow to love you freely
Take my hand and, in love, let's write our story
Tell me what is true and what requires refining
We might not have all the answers to life's questions
But we shall have love against its machinations
The night is young and somehow we forgot the date
Place your heart in my hands, love, like we're seventy-eight

The lights are low and we go forward hand in hand
Do our hearts lie or in sinking mud do we stand?
If there is one thing I'm certain of, it's you
Despite all ends emptying, despite all the blue
Darling, we have each other in our arms
This is the course of nature, no cause for alarm
Have you ever wondered why I keep saying it?
You have given me remedy, kept my light lit
Through the dark nights, through the uncertain roads
You are there with me even if there's nothing to behold
And this is love; I  suppose it's not just the absence of hate
So, come and dance with me, like we're seventy-eight

By far, I have sung the hymns of our testimony
The words you pour from your heart and from your company
I have come from the farthest lands of my memory
Still, you found me not in my best nor in my glory
You are my love; perhaps, I am yours, too
Why don't you tell me and maybe we'll do
All the impossible things—the ones they tell us to stop chasing
But won't we try, love? Won't we fight against the reaping?
Because I feel safe when I'm in your shadow
Just from your spirit, I can feel no sorrow
Times will be hard and the journey wouldn't forever sate
But, darling, stay with me and love me like we're seventy-eight

By far, I have sung the hymns of our testimonyThe words you pour from your heart and from your companyI have come from the farthest lands of my memoryStill, you found me not in my best nor in my gloryYou are my love; perhaps, I am yours, tooWhy do...

Welp. I've had this poem idea from a long time ago and only wrote it around February. Forgive me for publishing it only now, in May. xD

I guess this is the highlight of the collection as this is the main reason this collection is made the way it is with its themes and stuff. This poem depicts the wonders of love and how it feels good. And yeah, I really, really love the recurring "seventy-eight" theme in each stanza and how many variations of it I could do. If I have the energy, I could very well extend this to five or six stanzas. But yeee. I'm almost always without energy lately. lol.
