"I don't know Elyse, it was sone legal leadership control contract. They mentioned you and rest they talked about all the bullshit that could practically exist and I heard something like... 'for that to happen Elyse must marry in a royal family.'" He completed.
"I don't know Levi, it's just too much to deal with. I agree our family comes from the periodic time but they have to understand, what they've been doing is just ridiculous. They are taking my right of love away, did they once ask me, if I loved someone? Did they even once consider my feeling? Hell to that. They didn't even have the courtesy to ask me. It's too much." I sighed.
"Elyse!" My dad's voice reached my ears.
"Yes?" I asked, annoyance clearly visible in my voice.
"What was that?" He asked.
"You're asking me? You're asking me what was that? You think you can make the decision of my marriage without even consulting me and I would not react. This was the most sophisticated way I could have reacted. Thank me because your so called family reputation wasn't ruined."
"Elyse, I'm warning you! You'll marry Brice and it's the end of it."
"It's the end of what? Dad, I can't marry Brice, I can't and I don't want to. I don't love him."
"It's not necessary for you to love him. When I married your mother, we didn't love each other. Now see we love each other to no end."
"Yeah, if shouting on each twenty four seven means that. Then you're in love." I said.
"Don't create a scene here, we will talk tomorrow once we reach the penthouse." Mom said.
"Thank you mother, I could use a few hours of silence, alone. Let's just head back to the hotel."
We all sat down quietly and no one uttered a word, we all sat silently till we reached the hotel. Once we reached, I just got out of my car and rushed towards my room. It was too much to deal with. I just quickly got into my pjs and laid on the bed staring at the ceiling.
It's high time I get of the stupid reverie I live in, of finding true love, of finding that one person who remains by my side, no matter what, of finding that special one, who loves me the same way I do to him. It's just a stupid daydream and it won't be true. People who have these kind of partners just have a good fate.
Fate, isn't it a bitch? Like it only sides with you when you don't really need it, rest all the time, it's just like a clingy person, so a bitch indeed.
Thinking about nothing in particular, I felt asleep, but of course luck isn't really on my side, I heard the doorbell ring thrice, I opened the door to see a person whom I didn't expect to see.
"What do you want, Tristan?" I asked lazily.
"Nothing, I just wanted to ask you, are you ok?"
"Why wouldn't I be?" I asked back, not saying a yes or a no.
"I saw you and your family in the courtyard outside the ball room, the argument seemed heated, I just wanted to make sure that you're alright."
"Why do you care?" I snapped at him.
"I'm just asking, ok? If you don't want to answer, then fine I'll leave, no need to make chaos about it."
"Okay then, I'm not ok, everything is just so messed up, I don't know what to do." I sighed and tears were again pooling around my eyes.
"May I come in Elyse?" He asked.
I nodded without hesitation. But then I remembered what happened last time when he was in my room.
