It's the day of the ball, finally!
I can't wait for this day to get over. But I'm also kind of nervous because they're going to announce my wedding and if the plan doesn't work out, I'm screwed. I couldn't tell Levi what the secrets were cause it has to seem natural and on that our plan is dependent. Cause the revealing of secrets has to be done first according to Brice.
But if they announce the wedding first, we got a plan for that too. Brice said he'll bring his boyfriend and come out to everyone. He's willing to take that risk for the sake of his love and for the sake of our friendship.
I just hope everything works out, if it doesn't, I'll not give two shits about the family name and all the anger reserved inside of me since the past two to three years will take the best of me.
Who in their right minds arrange their child's marriage without informing them? Then throw the surprise on their face. I'm no puppet that I'll just follow what they'll tell me, maybe anything but not marriage, it should be solely my decision and no one else's.
It's 2 hours left for the ball, make up artists should be on their way, I'll get changed into my red dress, too bad such a pretty dress to go waste on a useless occasion, don't get me wrong, I'm happy for my brother that he's turning 18, but with it comes all the family secrets, which becomes to much to handle, I myself couldn't handle it in two years. I'm still dealing with the mess and to add a cherry on top, this marriage fiasco.
I heard my doorbell ring, it must be the make up artists. I opened the door and I was correct.
"Ms. Elyse?" One of them asked me.
"Yes, that'd be me." I said.
"Ma'am, your mother sent us for your makeover." She said again.
"Ya I know, come in. I'll just go change into my dress, then you can work your magic on me." I slightly laughed.
The ladies smiled at me and nodded their heads. I wonder what it may feel like to be free of this world? People just assume my life's all sunshine and rainbows with unicorns dancing in the rain. Why don't they understand, it always isn't what it seems like it is? They don't know what I do, what I feel, they just assume.
I have no time for overthinking, so without thinking twice I slid into my dress and came out.
"Your dress is beautiful Miss." One of them said, I really don't know their names. Will I have to address them like this for the next couple of minutes?
"Thank you...?"
"I'm Julia, I'll be handling your make up." She smiled at me.
"And I'm Lucy, I'll be handling your hair." She also smiled at me.
"Nice to meet you both, Julia and Lucy. It's a pleasure and I think we should get to work, cause I have to be there on time, I'm kinda the host." I said.
"Sure." Lucy said.
I sat down on a chair and in front of me was a small mirror placed on the wall.
After what it seemed like decades, their work was done, I looked at myself in the mirror and in my eyes I could see that I've been through a lot. My eyes held power. Power to make me look strong, to make people know that I won't back off easily, smiling my lips showed I'm a strong woman, no matter what anyone will say. My hair looked pretty, in fact I looked pretty. I loved my look.
"Thank you Julia and Lucy, I love my look."
"You look beautiful ma'am." Julia said.
"Thanks to you both." I smiled at them.
