Blame It On Fate

CHAPTER 30

It's afternoon and I'm in my dads office with Nicholas. To say I'm nervous would be an understatement, this day could be the day I get know if I'll get to be with someone who isn't from the royal family, who is normal and will make me feel normal.

"Have a seat." Dad said to us. Both of us sat in-front of him.

"What happened?" Nicholas asked, can't he just sit and wait for the things to go the way they have to? Why does he have to interrupt right now, where I'll strangle him to death.

"I think you must be aware of the Elyse Tristan situation." Dad said and Nicholas gave me a side eye, just like people on Instagram these days.

"I suppose I am." Wait Tristan, he had to leave for Australia this morning and he had to tell me something, he left already? Without saying goodbye? How could he? Did he bid goodbye to anyone else?

"Elyse!" I heard a voice

"What?" I asked getting startled.

"Where are you lost?" Dad asked and I was still in a stance thinking about Tristan.

"Tristan, he left." I said

"What?" Nicholas said, "we're here for him and you and he just left? What are you saying?" He asked.

"No, no he had to go to Australia today morning and I didn't meet him, he didn't even say goodbye." I panicked.

"Calm down, maybe his flight got delayed or he just didn't want to stress you more." Nicholas tried to calm me down but it wasn't working. I think this was the first time I was having a panic attack.

I woke up to white lights staring right at me everything was too white, slowly realisation hit me that it was a hospital and I was not alone, Levi, Natalie and my mom were also present there.

"Mom" I managed to whisper out.

"Elyse, you're awake, let me call the doctor." She said and rushed to call out a doctor.

"Panic attack over a boy? Isn't that too bookish?" Levi asked smirking.

"Oh god Levi, can you please shut the fuck up. I swear to god I'll kill you." I spoke out, I think it was hardly audible.

"Fine, fine." He raised his hands up in his defence.

"Guys, where is Tristan?" I asked hoping he must be here, stupid of me to hope that but one can only hope. I see Natalie and Levi exchanging glances and nobody saying a word.

"The doctor is here." Mom said and they both sighed in relief, come on it's not like I was in an accident I can still very well beat them up if I want to. And I want to. And I will, if they don't give me the required information.

"She's okay now, the panic attack was triggered due to some memories I suppose, there's nothing to worry it wasn't severe but you need to take care that she is not exposed to too much stress or even a little, make sure a proper nutritionist diet is followed and rest for 2 days is recommend." The doc said, I mean so much for a panic attack? That's scary I hope I never have one again because I can't live without junk food. What? People from Royal families don't particularly like luxurious food only, they have their food needs.

"Can we take her home?" Natalie asked.

"Yeah sure, she can go home." He turned to me and said, "make sure to take some rest and make it a point to avoid stress." I nodded and he smiled at me I tried to return back the smile. "The discharge papers are with the receptionist, you can sign from there are complete the formalities." He said to my mother.

"Thank you doctor." My mom said and he replied with a curt nod and a smile.

"Kids, I'll go see to the formalities till then you two help her to get ready for home." My mom said and took an exit from the room.

"Care to tell me about him now? Please? See the doctor specifically told me not take stress so if you guys are not telling me I'll take stress and if I take stress-" I coughed in between, "yeah so as I was saying if I take stress my condition will not be stable and trust me I'll blame you."

"Alright alright, you know Tristan left this morning, he did bid me a goodbye and gave me a note for you." Levi said looking down.

"A note? He just left a fucking note? While she's trying to break the royal marriage act for him. Is he stupid?" Natalie almost yelled. I couldn't believe it for a moment, was what we felt for each other only worth a stupid note? I didn't think so but if he did think so then he can fuck off.

"Give me the note." I told Levi. He looked at me with narrowed eyes. "Are you sure?" He asked me. "Yes I'm sure now don't make me angrier than I already am, hand me over the note." I ordered him. "I wish he gave it to Nicholas." He murmured under his breath.

"What did you say?" I asked him.

"Nothing, here take it." He gave me the note. I practically snatched it from his hand. That very moment Nicholas entered the room.

"How are you feeling?" He asked me while sitting beside me on the bed.

"Much better." I answered. He looked at the note in my hand and then looked at me. Yeah be my brother and don't ask about it.

"What's that in your hands?" He asked me, so I guess he's not really my brother.

"Nothing important." I answered, and surprisingly he let it go. I think being ill comes in handy sometimes, doesn't it?

"Are you guys ready to go home?" My mom asked entering the room. We all nodded and got up.

"Nicholas, will you be coming along?" Mom asked him.

"No Jade, I have some business to take care of, you may head back home with these three." He said and then turned towards me, "Take care, and don't stress yourself too much kiddo." He said and patted my cheek. "Bye." I said to him, he returned the greeting and left.

It was now midnight and I was still baiting on if I should open the letter or not. I think I should so I did.
