Yesterday I went to see a physic who has helped me to learn how to control my sixth sense, all I have to do is practice. I'm now stood in between my brother and Corey outside of our next location. I jump up and down trying to warm myself up
"Told you that you should have put on more layers" Elton chuckle watching me
"Shut up" I reply rolling my eyes
"Ok and go" Evan calls from behind the camera
"What's up everyone and welcome back to
the TFIL overnight tour of abandoned haunted cool exploration type places we're still on" I stop jumping and hug Corey who immediately hugs me back Elton explains where we are "we're in West Virginia and more importantly at Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. Thea would you like to tell everyone your super cool amazing fact?"
"Errr I'm not sure anyone would like to know this, but the actual plot of land it's on is 666 acres with 13 buildings"
"No" all the boys say in unison. Corey does his nervous smile and I laugh at how scared everyone has suddenly gotten
"This place has a really really twisted gruesome history to it"
"Dude it's cursed" Corey says
"Four thousand lobotomies and a lot of deaths from the lobotomies" Brandon says
"There's been murders here, even patient on patient as well as the doctors killing people with the procedures. Some people were born into the place and they were kept here util their deaths, one of them was a girl names Lilly and I'm sure we will hear about her later on" I tell the group. Elton continues to go over the building and the different hotspots
"With all of that said, enjoy the video, we're excited about these really cool places"
"Shall we get in there?" Brandon looks at Elton. We all agree and turn towards the building. I hold onto Coreys arm as we walk up the steps
"Give it a friendly knock" Elton tells Brandon and Corbin. Brandon knocks the door which Corbin makes a comment telling him it was the least friendly knock he's ever heard
"It didn't open" Elton sighs
"Do we have to go home?" Corey says
"I think so. I guess that's it back to the couch. Thank you for watching" Elton says into the camera. I hold back a laugh as we all say 'thank you for watching'. We all burst out laughing before we actually enter the building.
When we enter we meet Scott who shakes all of our hands
"Ok well we will start here. This is the criminally insane forensics ward and this used to house the criminally insane from 1989 until the hospital shut down in 94"
"Oh wow do it's still fairly recent only like 30 years ago"
"Yes that's right" Scott responds to me "erm as far as activity goes we've had a lot of guests report shadows right through there" Scott points his touch down the hallway "that's where the staff would give the patients cigarettes and candy as a reward for good behavior and throughout the asylum you're going to see little piles. People have come in and made friends with the ghosts and they've actually left them so if you see that you know your in an active area"
"Oh wow" Corbin and Corey exclaim at the same time smiling. We walk into another area which Scott tells us is the lobotomy and recovery room. Instantly I start to feel like I have a migraine coming
"There would be metal frame beds from that wall and all the way down to the other end. It would have been filled with patients that just received their lobotomies"
"I've heard about them, but what actually was the procedure?" I ask Scott
"So the staff would give the patients electric shocks to put them under then they would take an ice pick with a device, stick it to the soft part of the eye and then smack it into the frontal lobe. They would move it back and forth like a windshield wiper that would disconnect the connections in the frontal lobe basically changing their personalities to become more docile and easier to get along with"
"Thats fucked up" Corey says wide eyed. Now I understand why I have a migraine coming
"It is. Common reports are of headaches"
"As soon as we walked in here I felt a migraine coming" I tell Scott and the rest of the group
"Ok let's move on"
Scott continues out tour, showing us where the hotspots are, where it's heavier and where there are reports of growling. Where electric shock therapy would take place. He also explains that woman are often touched in specific areas.... great. We walk into another room and I'm hit with a feeling of being light and happy. It feels like there could be children spirits in here that was to play. I feel a presence behind me so I quickly turn around and see a child like figure poking its head out from behind a door
"Oh my god" I breathe out
"What?" Corey quickly spins round to me and looks where I am but as he does the little figure disappears
"I just saw a child behind that door looking at us"
"Well that's not uncommon. This is ward 5 and it used to house children toddler size to 11 years old. The most common report is of child like figures peaking around the doors"
"Thea seems to gravitate towards children spirits and they gravitate towards her" Elton tells Scott who nods his head listening
"Yeah, that can happen a lot to woman because the sprites may see her as a motherly figure. Also Thea I'm guessing you probably have some maternal instinct so that's probably why they come to you over the the rest of the group"
"Makes sense" Corey agrees and I nod my head
"Now further down there, there is a guy called ben. He identifies as being in his 50s. When you ask him what he's doing in a children's ward, he'll cuss you out if you have some sort of spirit box" Scott then points down the hallway "down here we have a little girl named Emily" we begin to follow Scott "people leave toys for her. She will also manipulate balls and balloons. Some people speculate that she is also known as Lily". Scott takes us to the next area which houses patients between 11 and 17. People have their pant legs tugged at and their shoe laces untied. One patient even stabbed another and he ended up passing away.
"This is group seclusion" Scott tells us as we make our way into another room. This place is huge! It would be so easy to get lost in here. Walking in here I feel my skin prickle, like all the hairs on my body are standing up "this has a recent history. September 17th 1987 there were 3 patients in here. One was Dean Matheny. Dean had the mentality of an 8 year old, plus he was deaf and mute. He bit somebody and got in trouble. The doctors threw him up here. Jim Woods and another guy David Mason took one look at Dean and they took the sheets of their beds, wrapped it around Deans throat and they lifted him off the ground until he passed out"Scott points to the bar above the beds in the room "they woke him up by kicking him in the ribs and head. When he stirred they got him back up, but just repeated what they just did. They then hung him up again until he lost consciousness but this time they grabbed the metal frame bed. Put the post on top of his head and they took turns in jumping up and down on the bed until the post went through his skull and hit the floor. To this day people will still make contact with Dean and he will respond to like toys and colouring books"
"Fucking hell" I shake my head as Corey sits down leaning on the wall
"Did the doctors not foresee that Jimmy Woods and David would..." Elton trails off
"No I don't think so" Scott replies
"The fact that Dean was obviously a vulnerable person with a disability and the doctors did nothing to protect him" I shake my head again struggling to believe that this was only like 30 years ago.
After finishing up the tour it's finally time for us to investigate.
