"Audrey, I'm home!" the blondie shouted as she was coming in. Audrey and Clyde suddenly woke up, realizing that they both overslept. Well, under slept, as Tiffany was an early bird.
"Bestie? Are you here?" she shouted, wondering where the party girl was.
"Y-Yeah! I'm in my room. Gimme a minute!" she replied, trying to think of what she could do.
She turned to Clyde, nudging at the closet.
"Me? In there?" he said in a quiet, monotone voice. She shoved him in there and got her clothes on. Tiffany came in, not suspecting a thing.
"Oh, there you are, Audrey. I was wondering where you went." she said.
"Oh, y-yeah. I was just um... You know? Doing some morning breathing exercises."
"I see. So, what did you do last night? Any parties? Any drugs?" she asked, interrogating the 'sober' party girl.
"Oh, I uh... Just played with... m-myself." she admitted. She technically wasn't wrong, though she had help.
"So that's why your bed looks like a mess?" she said.
"Y-Yeah. I had to pleasure myself. Is it a problem?"
"No, no. You're fine. I'm actually glad you decided to do it while I wasn't home. Let me make your bed for you."
She walked over to adjust the sheets and blanket. However, while she was doing it, she tripped over a black hoodie, which she didn't recognize. She picked it up, wondering where it came from.
"Um, Audrey?" Tiffany said, holding the black jacket in her hand.
"Oh uh... Yeah, that was just an old hoodie I had since I was 18. I wore it last night. It got cold, you know?" she said, trying to cover up that she had a man with her the previous night.
"But it's Summer." she replied, realizing that her friend was acting suspicious.
"Y-Yeah. So it is. I got a little cold. Isn't that funny? Heh...heh."
Tiffany gave a stern look at her. Yep, she was suspecting something.
"Where is he?" she asked, knowing she had a guy over last night.
She gave a look of defeat. It was no use denying it. She opened the closet door, revealing the Korean man wearing nothing but his underwear. He stepped out, realizing the jig was up.
"Hi, there." the blondie said. Clyde blatantly ignored her. Just her peppy cheerleader appearance and innocent voice was enough to turn him off.
"I'm talking to you." she said, trying to get a response. He started looking angry, which Audrey noticed.
"Leave him alone!" the party girl yelled, suddenly showing aggression towards her friend.
She stood back in shock. They've been friends for years and never has she ever yelled at her. Not like that, at least.
"S-Sorry. I just wanted to chat with your boyfriend here." she said, suddenly getting uncomfortable.
The party girl suddenly felt some slight remorse. She didn't mean to yell at her best friend like that.
"I-It's fine... Clyde, I'll let you leave now. See you later." she said, dismissing him from their apartment. He put his pants and jacket on and left, feeling as if he just intruded a strong friendship. He went back to the sleazy motel, not knowing how to feel. Though, Tiffany and Audrey had a serious talk right after he left.
"Audrey, I'm not mad you brought a guy over, I'm mad that you didn't tell me."
"Look, what I do is none of your fucking business!"
"It is my business if you're in my apartment. I let you live with me because of your parents rules, remember?"
"No, you let me live with you cuz we're besties. I'm almost done with college, okay? After that, I'll be out for good!"
"You would've been finished already if you weren't such a drug head and actually took responsibility for once."
"No, the only reason I didn't finish was because you sent me to that lame-ass rehab facility. I'm a couple of months behind because of you."
"You know what? Let's just drop it. The moment you graduate, you're out. You'd better start looking for another place to live."
They both turned away from each other, both crossing their arms. Things were getting rather heated between them.
Back at Sal's motel, Clyde was in his bed, feeling nothing. He was emotionally numb at that point. Was he really in the way of the two girls' friendship? If he was, why would it matter?
Then, he got a text message. For once, he had his phone on loud, so hearing the text tone startled him. It was from Audrey.
"Come and see me on Monday. I go to Glenberry University. Should be out by 12 or so. I wanna see u."
He felt a bit off. He didn't expect to hear from her so soon. Was this true love? Or was this another BS stunt to get him in trouble?
