Melody. Melody.
Such a beautiful name for such a beautiful girl.
Nate takes her hand, shakes it and introduces himself without breaking eye contact; they ere both smiling at each other from ear to ear. He couldn't believe this one bit, the girl he's noticed and crushing on for a while is actually communicating with him! The love struck boy turns is fighting against his beating heart to not blush so much.
Be STILL my beating heart! he told himself, facing away from Melody so that she wouldn't notice how hard he was blushing.
He turns back to look at her again, as if he has never seen someone so pretty before. Well, he has, just not so up close.
Melody was talking to the other girls about how much they love their english teacher. The shining in her eyes seemed much brighter up close; her smile flashed a set of perfectly white teeth, which kind of look like pearls since they're so white; and she was standing at just the very angle that blocked the brilliant sun out of Nate's eyes but the other rays of sun going around her head, like a halo. She looked like an angel to Nate, and he simply couldn't take his eyes off of those beautiful eyes.
Eventually he had to rip his eyes off of hers, just to not make her uncomfortable. He immediately began to stuff his face with french fries to distract himself from the angel standing right next to him.
"Hey, sit down bae," Morgan tells Melody, and she decides to sit down right next to Nate.
His mouth was so full of fries and his cheeks were blushing so hard he felt like he would explode.
Oh geez, oh boy, Jesus Christ!!! Shit, why's she sitting next to ME? Nate asked himself while struggling hard to contain himself.
After a half hour-ish passed and the boy still hasn't managed to say a word to her other than 'I-I'm Nate...'. How frustrating. He imagined this moment so many times, but he always had a nice, smooth conversation with Melody each time—but it seems he forgot how annoyingly hard it was for him to communicate with anyone that wasn't a family member, teacher or Morgan.
Melody turns to Nate and asks, "Have I seen you at the library before?" Her eyes sparkling and twinkling at him.
"Uhh, yeah I think so." He responds.
A wave of disappointment flushes over Nate—he just wished he could talk to her calmly.
Melody holds her phone to him and looks at him with her big wonderful eyes, "can I have your instagram?" She asks him.
"I d-don't have one..." he responds awkwardly. He never felt the need for instagram.
"Oh, alright. So tell me a bit about yourself?" She rests her elbow on the table and settles her head on her fist and continues to look at him.
"Uhh, I'm a Cancer, i have a dog, I like reading, umm... I'm 6 feet tall... w-what about you?"
"I'm a Taurus, I have a pet duck, I also like reading and I'm 5'7."
"A duck?"
"Yeah," she giggles so cutely and pulls out her phone to show her duck. She opens a photo album of her duck and hands the phone to Nate, "his name is Pompom and he's a year old." She smiles at him.
"He's so cute!" He hands the phone back feeling pleased with himself that he managed to talk to Melody more.

After the sun has set and everyone had parted ways, Nate pushed open the door of his room and jumped into his bed with a huge grin on his face. The lovebird was so exited and proud of the conversation he just had with his crush. They didn't talk as much as he had hoped to but it was enough to make him satisfied. He even got her number too!
He then sees a wet nose poke through the gap between the door and the doorframe, it pushes the door open and Sport runs in full of joy. He hops onto Nate's bed to welcome him home and, with just that, his afternoon got much better than it already was.
