* Throwback when Mariam disappeared*

I waited in my car, looking at the time.

She was late. Where was she? I came out of my car and closed my eyes banging my fists on my car. She was late! Why is she late?

She made me so angry, her parents said she would be here and I paid them the money, but she isn't here and I have been waiting for the past two hours. My time is wasted! Damn it!

I took out my iPhone XR , and i dialed a number I knew by heart, she answered at the first ring.

"Where have you been?" I shout angrily through the phone.

" Don't worry, I'm close by, Infact i am here already."  She says over the phone.

I cut the call as I stuck my phone back into my pocket.

I hear footsteps behind me and I knew she was the one.

" How are you?" I asked her hugging her, she was so small.

She wasn't happy to see me like i was.

"Cut the deal with my parents" She ordered.

" What?" I asked her again, despite hearing her fully the first time.

"You heard me. I can't do this anymore. I want to be free. I can't be used as a sex toy anymore. You have a kid my age, would you like it if he was being used as a sex toy for an older woman for money? What's money anyway?"

Her words stung. "After all these while. You didn't back down. So why are you now? The money i paid to your parents to have you is worth more than you. You are worthless but yet, i still want to have you. You came here yourself, you can easily said you didn't want me through the phone. Stop all these child play before i tell your parents this instant!" I barked at her

"JUST STOP! Stop this! Please. Tell my parents i am done, i don't know why i ever agreed to this. I was blinded by the money, selling myself and body out to an old man, I can never forgive myself for that. I am calling it quits. I want nothing to do with you anymore." She yells

What she said made me really angry. How am i supposed to let her go, if i do, her parents would have to pay back every single penny i gave.

" I would never cut the deal." I spat and she hissed. She tried to run away, but i held her hand, and pushed me away, she tripped on a stone on the ground and fell face flat to the ground. She was hurt. Blood was oozing out of her knee.

I carried her to my car and I drove her to my cabin.

There was a first aid box, I took out the cotton wool and cleaned the blood on her knee. She had a few bruises on her face as well. I hope it doesn't leave a scar. Nothing should daint her pretty face.

I gave her some pills to sleep and i cleaned her wounds and applied a bandage to her bruised knee.

I called her parents, informing them about her wanting to end the deal between she and i. But they told me not to, they would talk to her and speak some sense into her that she was mine as long as they are paid  2.5million naira.
