~New Moon~

I knew you were there.
Casting your dark glare.
You took your time. You took your place,
You showed your prime. You showed your grace.

You had beauty that you wished to show;
You followed your duty to proclaim your glow.
But, it took time, you see?
It took time for the lights to be free.

So, you slowly cast your beautiful face,
As you calmly idled in that vast space.
You showed your true color,
You made the night less duller.

Slowly, You came to me...

~Waxing Crescent~

You released only a little light,
But it held so much might.
It cast small silhouettes,
Dancing gracefully in a duet.

A duet of the shadows, let it be sung!
The music in the night, it gracefully hung.
You, the Moon, smiled at their forms,
Their rejoicing figures turned to swarms.

For you, the Moon, cast your beam,
The beautiful forest begun to gleam.
You smiled and rejoiced in dance,
Setting the night time in a captivating trance.

Where are you? For, I cannot see...

~First Quarter~

You, the Moon, were then half full,
The shadows you begun to pull.
You were not full nor anyway withdrawn,
For the night just started with a myth of dawn.

You drew the dancers from their sanctum,
Their drums filled the night with a thum.
Their home was placed in the swaying trees.
The leaves moved with the ongoing breeze.

So you begun to dance, My Moon.
This wonderful night didn't end anytime soon.
Your shadows, your people,
They were you, your steeple.

Come, ever so closer...

~Waxing Gibbous~

You then danced with the stars,
Your beams of light made scars.
The night was filled with that song of yours,
Their broken souls, your song did cures.

You danced in the night,
Dreamt of morning light.
For up there, where you were;
There was a sky decorated star by star.

You bestowed upon us this sky;
Up there, ever so high.
You brought to us this beautiful night;
As you, My Moon, climbed in height.

You're almost there, My Love, don't let the night get grosser...

~Full Moon~

The wolves begun to sing,
The ongoing night; they did bring.
Your shadows now danced with these beasts,
The night was filled with laughter and feasts.

This was the time that you now shone,
You, the Moon, have climbed your mighty throne.
The owls joined your dance,
The deer begun to prance.

The dark bears, the sly foxes;
Oh, how they danced through the phloxes.
The fireflies darted through the night; glittering.
Who knew one beam of light would start such a thing?

I can see you now, My Moon...

~Waning Gibbous~

Your light was fading,
Your face was shading.
Why must you leave, My Love?
You're were as beautiful as a pure dove.

But, this question went on in the night,
Telling me everything will be alright.
Even if you go, I made sure you know,
You set my life and this night aglow.

I thanked you, My Moon,
Why must you go so soon?
The animals showed great despair,
You had much more to repair.

Don't leave me, My Silver Beauty, cast your rune...

~Third Quarter~

It seemed your smile was still there,
It was still showing all your care.
Your playful gleam was still present,
Your silver beams were ever so pleasant.

You knew the animals would miss you,
And you're ever-lasting tattoo.
A tattoo that was imprinted on my mind,
Why must you make all my nights blind?

You'll never know how much I loved the night,
Or how you were capable of making it so bright.
Why must you let the dark take hold?
You left my breath and I ever so cold.

I can't do it this time, you can't leave me, I love the sky...

~Waning Crescent~

I didn't know if I could let you go yet,
What did you not get?
My emotions were in turmoil,
My heart strings were in a firm coil.

I stared at you with great longing,
You made me feel elated and belonging.
You were the only one who stopped and listened,
When the celebrations dropped and the night glistened.

Then the night has died down,
Plastered on my face, a bleak frown.
The animals were almost home,
But, I was left to roam.

Please don't leave me to cry...

~New Moon~

Here we are again,
Just me and my pen.
Writing this poem to you,
My Moon, you are one of very few.

I have no place to lay my thoughts to sleep,
No garden to tend, no balcony to sweep.
You are my only home, my only friend;
All of your great celebrations I must attend.

But, now you are sleeping,
The sheep in your head are leaping.
You are my stars, You are my sky,
Will you be with me until I die?

For now, I wait, for I love you, My Moon;
As you Cast Your Shadows and Dance, don't leave so soon.
The cycle repeats again and again,
My pen writes as much as a pen...

~Slowly, You came to me~
~Where are you? For, I cannot see~
~Come, ever so closer~
~You're almost there, My Love, don't let the night get grosser~
~I can see you now, My Moon~
~Don't leave me, My Silver Beauty, cast your rune~
~I can't do it this time, you can't leave me, I love the sky~
~Please don't leave me to cry~

Cast your shadows and dance,
Let your light start to prace.
Cast Your Shadows and Dance, My Moon,
Shine your light upon this lagoon.
