The Met Gala - one of fashion's biggest events - has rolled out its red carpet in New York for some of the globe's best-known stars.

This year's dress code - " Fashion and Florals: A Dialogue" Co-chaired by Harry Styles, Rihanna, Meryl Streep and of course, Vogue Editor in Chief, Anna Wintour.

For those unfamiliar with the Met Gala, it's basically a cross between a glossy red-carpet affair and a fancy-dress party: the themed prom of your dreams. Hosted by Vogue at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, it is, to paraphrase Mean Girls, the one night a year when celebs can dress like total freaks, and no one can say anything about it. Each year there is a theme to match the Costume Institute's spring exhibition – the only rules are to stick with it, be bizarre, outlandish and remember that there's no such thing as over the top.

And with a night as extraordinary as the Met Gala, the dramatics were bound to go beyond the iconic steps and this year was no exception.

If you've been following the social fall out of Steiner&Jaxon founders, Presley Steiner and Juno Anstey, then keep reading because we noticed a few peculiar moments, or lack of, between the two former best friends.

Juno Anstey was first to arrive, wearing a beautiful dusty pink Burberry gown that effortlessly flowed as she walked the steps. The gown, which was designed by Burberry, especially for the blonde was dotted with hand-embroidered scarlet hued flowers. However, most notably about the entrance was the man on her arm – Jaspar Korasic.

A familiar face to the Met is the actor of the moment, Jaspar Korasic, but perhaps his most famous role to date is the ongoing saga between himself and Presley Steiner. He wore a custom glittery, navy Sies Marjan suit and it certainly went down well with the photographers.

In years gone by Juno and Presley have walked the carpet together, usually in gowns by their own fashion house but amidst the chaos in their personal lives, it didn't come as a shock to see them separately.

When speaking to  Juno had this to say, "What I love about fashion is that trends come and go, nothing is really gone forever. You might hate it right now but when it comes back it seems like a breath of fresh air." We asked if this was a nudge to her current friendship status but the blonde smiled and shook her head. "There's nothing to talk about there, at the end of the day we have a business and that comes first. At least to –" She added before being cut off by the man on her arm, Jaspar, who simply told the reporter that 'He had the most beautiful woman as his date tonight.'

Even though they may not be walking together it seems that the former friends still share the same aesthetic, as later in the evening, Presley Steiner arrived at the steps wearing a two-piece sapphire bandeau and mini skirt with an attached dramatic flowing floral printed train. Photographers caught the moment that she spotted first-time attendee Milo Crusoe and Met Gala Veteran Lewis Hamilton making their way to the beauty.

If Juno turning up with Presley's ex-boyfriend wasn't the twist of the evening, things were about to get even messier when Milo Crusoe took the hand of Presley, and they made their way around the media pen. Milo Crusoe dated Juno Antsey on and off for around seven months, but it is rumoured that his love affair with Presley Steiner dates to 2021.

The newest face of Hugo Boss, Milo Crusoe, dressed to the occasion in head-to-toe, in yes, you guessed it, Hugo Boss. He wore a midnight blue velvet jacket that perfectly matched the shade of blue in his dates couture Steiner&Jaxon gown.

As they made their way around the reporters Crusoe looked on in admiration as his date chatted about how the gown that had been designed by Steiner whilst in Tuscany the previous year. She spoke to, "Of course this year is different, but change is good, and I'm so glad that Milo has come with me. He is perhaps one of the most important people in my life and to be able to share this experience with him is warming – and I mean look at him, [Steiner and Crusoe caught having a moment] the man is gorgeous, and belongs on a red carpet"

Milo added to her comment, "No, no, no, the honour is all mine. I'm not going to lie, I've never been so self-conscious about my walk before, but it's a great experience so far and, an absolute honour to spend a day in the life of Presley Steiner."

Whilst the duo looked very good together, we can't help but wonder what Presley's husband, Charles Leclerc must be thinking. The brunette has reportedly filed for divorce from the Formula One driver, citing irreconcilable differences and based on the looks shared between Crusoe and Steiner, we doubt that this comes as a shock.

Steiner seemed in good spirits which based on the pictures of the After Party continued way into the night. The designer was spotted leaving the event early with Milo Crusoe shortly behind her. At the other end of the night, Juno and Jaspar who must have been one of the last to leave were photographed getting into a town car together.

But which couple were seen getting hot and heavy away from the crowds?

The biggest takeaway from the night? It doesn't matter how dramatic the fashion is on the red carpet, the drama away from it still takes the crown.
