To think that only a year ago I was recovering from a potential career-ending injury to lifting the trophy on the podium in Brazil today. I am completely overwhelmed in the best possible way, but I have one more piece of news to share.
I have always wanted two things; to win a world title and to be a mother. Today Max and I are THRILLED to announce that we have a little one on the way

This news means that I will be retiring after this season. It was not an easy decision but the news of our pending arrival put everything into perspective. I achieved what I wanted to do, and now it's time to pass the seat on to someone else.
I want to say a massive thank-you to Toto Wolff and the Mercedes AMG F1 team for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime, I am so happy with what we have achieved. To SIR Lewis Hamilton for, well, being you and of course to my brother Milo for pushing me to achieve greatness and for telling me to always go after what I want.
Lastly, to all the fans that have cheered me on, I hope I was able to put on a show of a lifetime. I certainly loved every moment of it.
I will see you all very soon, and ALWAYS in the Mercedes Garage
