Soulmate AU

Your P.O.V
I've been following this red string for 1 year now and everytime I'm close to my soulmate, it just gets longer. I sighed and sat on a bench in the park. "Stupid soulmate string. I've been looking for a year now and I'm never gonna find my soulmate." I mumbled and my string that was wrapped around my pinky started to move. "Y/n!" My best friend yelled out and ran over to me. "Hello b/f/n. What brings you here?" I asked and she gave my duel disk.

"Let's duel. I've noticed that you've been stressed out lately so I wanted to cheer you up!" B/f/n replied. "Okay. Let's go." I said and got ready to duel my best friend.

Yami's P.O.V
I felt a little stressed out lately because every time I wanted to find my soulmate, I have to do something else. It's annoying! I heard a knock on the door and Yugi walked in. "Hey, Yami. How you doing?" He asked. "One word. Frustrated." I replied with a sigh. "Still haven't found your soulmate?" Yugi asked. I nod and layed on my bed. "Why don't you try and go find them? Where does your string lead you?" Yugi asked and looked at my string. "Alright. Let's go see where it leads us." I said and stood up. We walked put and walked to the park. I noticed my string move and looked to the side. I saw 2 duelists dueling. I walked over and saw my string attach to someone with h/c hair and e/c eyes. Yugi also watched the duel. I was amazed about the skills that the h/c had. "Attack b/f/n life points directly!" The h/c said and their duel monster attack their friend.

"And that's game, b/f/n. Sorry but you need to practice more. And now I need to find my soul....mate?" The h/c trailed off. She looked at her string then me. "No way...I thought having a soulmate was stupid but now...I don't know." They said. "I thought the exact same thing." I said and stepped forward. "I'm Y/n L/n." I smiled and blushed. "I'm Atem. But you can call me Yami." I replied and hugged Y/n. "I love you." I whispered in Y/n's ear. "I love you too, Yami." I kissed Y/n and pulled away after a moment. "Yess! N/n finally got themselves a soulmate!" Y/n friend shouted. "And Yami got himself a girl!!" Yugi and Y/n's friend was bouncing around, cheering. "That's b/f/n for you." Y/n said. "And that's Yugi for you. Well, let's go and get to know each other!" I said and grabbed Y/n's hand.

Your P.O.V
Yami grabbed my hand and ran off like a child. I can't believe that I found my soulmate. I was happy and so was Yami. I noticed Yugi and my best friend run after us and yelling. We laughed and kept going. 'This just changed my life for the better.' I thought and spent the rest of the day with Yami.
