The delicious smell of bacon and waffles is what compelled Caroline to finally roll out of bed at 11:13 the next morning. She sat at the table, already occupied by Kol and Bonnie, who seemed to be arguing about something.

"Because it's not realistic! Humans can't just become witches, they have to be born into it. Even then, not everyone has powers."

"I don't know, love." Kol said with a shake of his head. "I'm just saying if "You Know Who" we're a real person, well, I'm sure he'd be more feared than my brother even."

"Doubtful, brother." Klaus smiled, as he turned around from the sizzling pan of bacon he was cooking. "Good morning, Caroline." He smiled at her, and his cheeks flushed slightly red. "Would you like some breakfast?"

Caroline wanted to lie and say she wasn't hungry, but everything smelled so delicious. "Breakfast sounds great." She smiled in return, as Klaus began fixing a plate.

"You want any pancakes?" Rebekah asked, who was also cooking by the stove. "I made them myself."

"Thanks Rebekah." Caroline noticed Kol from across the table, shaking his head wildly at Caroline, urging her not to.

"Knock it off Kol, I can see you." Rebekah snapped, and he laughed.

"I'm sorry Becca, but you have to admit, you aren't exactly the worlds greatest cook."

"And who's fault is that?" Rebekah asked, glaring at Klaus.

"Only you could manage to screw up boxed pancake mix." Klaus responded with a chuckle and shake of his head. He walked over to the table with a plate piled high with eggs, bacon, pancakes, fruit, and of course, a cup of orange juice.

After they had all finished breakfast, and the brothers had excused themselves up to the study, Rebekah started grilling Caroline again.

"I know he's somewhere in New York, Stefan told me." Caroline sighed. "I just don't know where."

"Well don't worry New York is a small city." Rebekah reassured her.

"What?" Bonnie laughed.  "No it's not. It's a city and it's huge." Rebekah said

"Well, sorry, if my memory is a bit rusty. I've been locked in a coffin for the past thousand years." Rebekah defended, and they chuckled. "But Niklaus knows it well, and I'm sure he wouldn't mind giving you a tour, Caroline."
Caroline saw Rebekah give Bonnie a little wink at this last comment, but she decided to let it slide.

After all, she did need a guide and Klaus wasn't the worst thing to look at. He was also kind of good company...

"So!" Rebekah said, snapping Caroline out of her thoughts. "Shall I tell the boys to get ready?"

She headed upstairs without waiting for a reply and Caroline looked at Bonnie feeling a little uneasy. Damon, here they come...

Growing up in a small town like Mystic Falls, Virginia, there was never much to do. The main place to hang was the Mystic Grill. Place. Not places. But place. That's how small of a town it was!

There were a handful of stores, a restaurant or two, and a few small boutiques across the way, but nothing really extravagant, nothing really big.
Nothing like New York.

The epicenter of America, the wolf of Wall Street, the most profitable state in the US. Sure, the people were mean, the streets were dirty, and the air reeked of pollution and expired hot dogs, but if there's one thing New York did right, it was it's shopping.

Caroline fumbled with the buttons on her phone as she tried to send Damon another text, her hands full of clothes. She tried calling him too, but every call went straight to voicemail. Caroline knew Damon could take care of himself, but she was seriously starting to get worried.

"You know they have people for that?" Klaus smirked as he looked at Caroline, her hands clad with about twenty garments for both Rebekah and Bonnie to try on, as she stood outside the changing room. "You don't want to shop around for yourself?" He asked curiously.

"I'm not here to shop." Caroline said snarking as she flung the items onto a nearby sofa and sat down. "I'm here to find someone, remember?"

"Damon Salvatore, how could I forget? It seems as far as I go he still finds me and causes trouble." Caroline let out a small laugh at Klaus's joke and she rolled her eyes.

"Well, love, seeing as you won't be doing any modeling of your own, I think I'll join Kol at the pub across the way." Klaus reached into his wallet and pulled out a platinum American Express card, handing it to Caroline. "For Rebekah, and Bonnie. And you, if you want anything."

He gave Caroline a gentle nod before briskly walking to the door.

After a few minutes Rebekah and Bonnie came out in matching dresses, and proceeded to throw an entire fashion show, much to Caroline's amusement, and the employee's disdain.

They were in the middle of demonstrating how essential scarfs are to the personality of an outfit, when Caroline's phone started to buzz.

"Sorry ladies." She laughed as she dug around her purse for her phone. She frowned when she read the caller ID. Klaus. The screen read. They had just been together about twenty minutes ago. What did he want?

"Klaus?" She asked hesitantly. "Is everything okay?"

"Caroline..." he started to say, but was interrupted by someone yelling in the background.

"Caroline?" The voice slurred lowly, sounding familiar. "Sweeeet Carolineee." The voice sang, incredibly off key. "Good times never seemed so gooood."

"Klaus? Who is that?" Caroline asked, pressing the phone closer to her ear to get a better listen.

"Man, you really can't hold your liquor, can you?" Kol laughed in the background, earning a huff from someone.

"Shut it, man. I'll have you know I knocked down t-t-two wholee bottles of bourbon alll by myself."

Bourbon???
That could only mean one thing.

"Damon?"

Hey guys! Hope you enjoyed this chapter!
I published it only one day after the last one, are you guys proud of me? 😆
This was a little bonus treat for you guys for making you wait so long.

Anyways, I've decided and I think this book will hopefully have around 7 more chapters and then it will be finished!!

But don't worry, I plan to add a lot of drama and plot twists in the chapters to come. Something very juicy is going to happen very soon, so I hope you guys are ready for that.

I'm also considering writing a second book once this one is done, focusing on different characters and a different plot. Would any of you read it? And which characters and pairings would you be excited to see?

Thanks for reading, and I will hopefully have the next chapter out sometime soon! ❤️
