A/N: To my readers: I am SO SORRY I have not updated in a while. Things have been very crazy and I lost focus but I appreciate you guys. I'm going to try and continue to update more regularly, and I hope these next few chapters make up for it. 😉

"You've reached the one and only Damon Salvatore. You've caught me at a bad time, but leave me a message at the tone." BEEP!

Bonnie flipped her phone with a sigh as Caroline came striding towards her. "So?"

Caroline shook her head in reply. "They must be on vervain. No available flights for days."

"His phone went straight to voicemail. He's probably boarding." Bonnie added with a sad shrug. "Sorry."

"It's okay." Caroline sighed. "We should just go home, it's useless. I don't know what I was thinking."

"Hey don't say that." Bonnie patted Caroline's shoulder as they sat down on airplane chairs in the lobby.

"There's only one flight boarding right now, and it's headed to New York. So we know he must be heading there."

"So what? We don't have a way to get there. Didn't you hear when I said all the flights were booked?"

"I'm not talking about these flights." Bonnie said a mysterious smirk on her face. "I know someone with a private jet. I don't think he'd mind giving us a ride."

Caroline's eyes widened "Do you mean..."

"Ello love!" Bonnie mocked in a horribly offbrand brittish accent causing Caroline to groan in protest.
"Now come on, you have a call to make!"

The awkward silence hung in the air as the aircraft stirred quietly. Caroline turned her head to see Klaus staring at her yet again, his gaze unshifting, though his smile grew a bit wider once he noticed Caroline looking back at him.

"Bluegh." Bonnie throwing up in the background disturbed them yet again, and Caroline could hear a thoughtful sounding Rebekah run to her aid.

"Think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts." She soothes, and Caroline could see her rubbing Bonnie's back lightly, trying to get her to presumably stop.

Gross, but kinda nice of her.

"Bonnie gets really airplane sick." Caroline explained upon noticing Klaus's disgusted reaction.

"And here I thought she was just a little more Shrek today than usual." He half grimaced-half scowled, before refocusing his attention to steering the plane.

"Shrek." He interrupted the silence, after about thirty seconds with no reply from Caroline. "You know, Shrek? The movie?" When Caroline didn't answer he continued. "Big green ogre who only eats onions and lives in a hut-"

"No, I know who he is." Caroline could've smiled but she was almost too stunned. "I just didn't think you did."

"Oh." Klaus sheepishly smiled and avoided her eyes. "I suppose then that may not have been the most charming of analogies."

"I can't believe you like Shrek!" Caroline exclaimed, enjoying the embarrassed blush creeping its way into Klaus's cheeks. "The big bad scary million year old hybrid loves a cartoon about talking donkeys and alive gingerbread."

"It's a highly sophisticated film, suitable for all ages of enjoyment, and provides a form of culture lost on the world today!" He defended as Caroline laughed.
"Don't you think you should check on Bonnie now?"

Caroline quietly laughed all the way to the passenger seats, where she sat beside Bonnie and Rebekah.

"Your friend is really sick." Rebekah remarked as she stood up. "I'm over a thousand years old and even I have never seen anything quite that disgusting."

"Shut up." Bonnie muttered, and Rebekah laughed.

"Don't leave!" Caroline pleaded, kind of regretting leaving the cockpit with Klaus.

"She's your friend." Rebekah quipped as she sauntered away. "Besides, I've got to go disinfect my hands. I have an inkling even hellfire won't be strong enough to cleanse myself."

Bonnie raised her head and chuckled, but almost immediately flung her head back down to the wastebasket, unfortunately slightly missing and getting a spot on Caroline's new suede boots.

Great.
$79.99 just down the drain.

There's not many things Caroline was certain of, but one thing she knew, was that this was gonna be a long ride.
