xoxoxxooxoxoxoxooxoxoxooxoxo"No, she will"
"Are your sure?"
"It's almost certain."
the silent whispers of a new hospital nurse and a voice that was familiar, but not one I recognised, filled the thick air of the dirty room. I was just within the the same sort of dream state I had been in before; Nothing felt real, but not particularly fake, either."Will she remember anything?"
"Well, it would have been a traumatic time, so I wouldn't ask what
happe-"
"I mean will she remember how to move, speak, eat, dress?"The pause between what the voice said and what the nurse replied, was piercingly loud. I needed some kind of idea where I was and what happened.
"Well" again she paused, unsure of how to continue. I could sense it in her voice, her concern and uncertainty.
"Well, she doesn't seem to have immediate brain damage, but there's no way of telling if her other injuries will cause mental damage to the situation."
"And walking?"
"Well....her spine is broken in three places, and was quite badly bent around when her body hit the ground. Although mind you, she is recovering abnormally fast. She's lost an alarming amount of blood, although we did manage to get a donor, but It's still quite surprising that she lasted as long as she did, but there's a low chance she'll ever-"
I changed my mind in one of my fleeting, failing heartbeats, That I wasn't even sure was actually there.
I didn't want to listen.
Not anymore.
I wanted to block it out.
I didn't want to know what had happened.
Or what will happen.
I didn't want to know what life would be like.
What i'd have to live with.
I was only here for one reason.
And I wouldn't stick around long after that.
Just to find one person."And will she be able to do things alone?"
I heard the nurse exhale sadly, as she seemed to move around, switching things and adjusting objects on rusting wheels.
"No one really knows." No one will until she wakes up"
the metal that attached to the wheels moaned loudly, creaking and groaning.
"And will she wake up?"
Stop. Stop, I begged. I didn't want to know. Block it out. Please.
"Again, it all depends on her" I felt suddenly like I was being watched. I noticed the feeling of eyes on my face, from what to them Must have looked
dead.
Broken.
Gone.
I felt responsibility, like here I was expected to flutter awake and give everyone the happy ending they wanted. Not particularly what I felt like, as I hadn't gotten mine.
