The church was filled with hushed whispers and conversations awaiting the announcement of the punishment. Mason walked down the aisle with a serious face, earlier she had ordered that all members of The Guard were behind Dewey. The only exception was Grizz as he insisted on walking alongside Mason to insure her safety and well-being.

Dewey and Helena sat at the same table. Allie and Will sat a few rows behind them and Campbell was nowhere to be found. Mason walked up the aisle and faced the group, waiting for the whispers to completely come to a halt before starting her announcement.

"I had two decisions to make. Two rulings. First, Campbell. This court is not about vengeance. It's about fairness and justice. The only evidence we have against Campbell is from Dewey himself and it is unreliable. No evidence means no trial. So, last night I ordered that Campbell be released from custody."

The uproar in the crowd began. Mason looked around narrowing her eyes, "It was the right thing to do," Mason said sternly. She knew that with the whole town knowing her relations to Campbell that they might questioned the bias behind his releasement, but she also knew that for what ever reason the town trusted her with power.

Last night, Mason had decided by herself what Dewey's punishment would be. She knew that the only way to insure the town and her own safety from Dewey was if he was completely gone, dead. With recent events Mason was starting to pick up that some people in the town where starting to question her authority level and had been bringing up the rumours of her year long disappearance again. She needed to act fast, and if  fear insured her authority then so be it six months ago she was feared so it's nothing new to the brunette.

"As for Dewey, he has been found guilty of murder and the punishment for murder is death." Mason kept a serious face as kids stood up and objected. All the people who were so quick to turn on Dewey decided, all of a sudden, they would protect him. She stayed quiet as Dewey stood up.

"Are you kidding me?" He yelled, his eyes widening with fear.

Luke and Jason pulled Dewey back into his seat as Mason looked around. She remained still as more kids stood up. "Let this be a warning." Mason stated.

"This is not a court!" Dewey objected and stood up but he was met by Luke and Jason holding him back. "You are fucking crazy! You hear me?"

Luke and Jason started to drag Dewey down the aisle as he screamed out in anger,  "You have no right! I'm going to fucking kill, you bitch! I'm gonna kill you! Then you'll be dead just like Cassandra!"

These words had no phase on Mason because she knew they were empty threats. The only person who was deeply phased by them was Grizz. He came up behind Mason, placing a hand gently on her lower back before whispering in her ear, ""Let's go."

People yelled at Mason as she walked by but she kept her eyes fixated on the doors in front of her. The screams of disapproval didn't bother her, nor did the shouts of the rumoured "Mason killed her dad".

As Mason walked out of the building she came across her brother in his usual black jean jacket. Turning to Grizz she told him and the rest of the boys,  "Don't make a scene."

"Thought it'd be better if I gave you some space this morning. Don't need two brothers starting shit in your life." Campbell defended himself  "What'd you decide?"

"Half siblings," Mason said bluntly. "We're executing him tomorrow."

Campbell looked up at the three boys behind her in disbelief. He looked as if he wanted to say something in objection but he held back. He just nodded before walking off.

The noises were somewhat soothing. Mason hadn't been out to the forest since six months ago, the night her dad was gone and she was removed from everyones life for a year. She found it nice how quiet and secluded everything was. Mason watched as Grizz handed guns to Jason and Luke. Grizz then picked up his own and held the gun between two fingers like it was a broken but dangerous toy.
