❞𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗛𝗔𝗩𝗘 been the biggest dick to be late and everyone can see it, Harry, so why don't you tell everyone what the fuck your problem is." Mason stepped forward, placing her hands on her brother's chest and harshly shoved him backward.
"Yeah, Mason, you want me to everyone what my problem is?" Harry snapped, stepping forward to challenge his sister. Mason looked down at the floor and stepped back, "That's what I thought."
"What was that about?" Kelly whispered, standing beside Mason.
Mason, shrugged. She'd rather not tell people about everything that had happened recently. Although, part of her assumed Harry had already told Kelly what had happened in a weak attempt to keep her close.
"How do you want to decide things, Harry? Every person for themselves, then we're back to where we started." Cassandra moved to stand in front of Harry. "Would you like to flip a coin to see who decides?"
"You don't like democracy," Mason scowled, "How about a random fucking chance?"
Cassandra smirked at Mason as she pulled out a nickel from her pocket. "Call it, Harry."
"I-I'm not going to do that."
As much as Mason despised her brother at this moment, she felt sorry for everyone teaming up against him.
"Okay, I'll call it for you. You get heads." Cassandra decided, flipping the coin. "Tails. Still, think it's unfair? Again."
She flipped the coin a couple of more times, each landing on tails. She flipped it a seventh time, slowly removing her hand.
"Heads," Mason whispered, leaning forward to get a good look at the coin. "It's all up to us. There's no civilization here, not until we start one."
"So, what are we going to do?" Cassandra recomposed herself, "I think we have no choice but to share. Food, resources-"
"Houses?" Harry scowled.
"Maybe," Cassandra nodded.
"Like that's going to happen," Mason rolled her eyes, "He doesn't even let his Sister in the house."
"Really? How much electricity do we have until it's all used up and everything goes dark? Two hundred and five people living in two hundred houses doesn't make sense." Allie spoke up.
Will lifted his head from his hands, "Are we going to fight each other over food?"
"That's fucking crazy," Mason snapped.
"That's because you have nothing," Harry spoke up, "And some of us have things that others want. Right, Will? Like houses or girlfriends."
"Right, Harry, I have no house." Will scowled, "That place that I used to live in is out of town, it doesn't exist. You want me to just live on the streets?"
"You can live where ever you want, just not with me," Harry snapped.
"Was that directed towards Will or me?" Mason asked, her voice laced with sarcasm. "I got confused."
"Shut the fuck up," Harry yelled, leaning forward and shoving Mason into a wooden post.
Before anyone could react, a booming gunshot alarmed the group. Everyone instantly dropped down and covered their heads. Mason, stood in fear. Unable to move.
"Well, fuck this." Campbell scowled, lowering his gun. "Harry's right."
Campbell began to move up the church aisles, holding the gun to his side. As he moved the people he walked past flinched and ducked closer behind objects. Mason, still unable to move, watched as Campbell moved closer and closer to her until he was face to face with her.
"No one elected you guys king." Campbell yelled, "Did anyone vote? No?"
He raised his gun until the barrel was pointing at Mason's head.
"I'm not scared of dying," Mason whispered holding his gaze. "Fucking shoot me."
Campbell hesitated for a second, but his grip was tight on the gun as he held it steadily. As his brown eyes locked into Mason's own brown eyes she could have sworn for a second she saw empathy.
"Shoot me, Campbell," Mason whispered.
Campbell recomposed himself, lowering the gun and turning towards the crowd. "Anyone who doesn't want to hear any more of this bullshit, come with me."
A few, maybe a quarter, of the kids stood up and followed Campbell as he headed for the door.
Harry turned to Kelly, begging her to come. Kelly looked at Will and Mason with sympathy in her eyes and stood up taking Harry's hand.
As Campbell and his group reached the door they stepped back in shock as Grizz pushed the door open with a sombre expression on his face.
Without thinking, Mason bolted across the church and slammed into Grizz's firm chest. She stood on her tippy toes, wrapping her arms around his neck and breathing in his scent.
Grizz stood still, stunned, for a brief second before his arms wrapped around Mason.
His nose nuzzled in her brown hair, "I'm okay," he whispered.
