Dream was getting nervous, walking around, hands on his chin, thinking of the worst possibilities. "No no! Don't think of negativity, think of the positivity! Dream, be positive!" Dream reminds himself out loud.

He was getting restless. 'Where could Ink be?' Is his main question. 'Why did he disappeared? When did this ha- No, this happened after Error and Ink's fight. Did Error kidnapped Ink?' Dream gently grabs his cape, a habit he grown to use when he is in distress.

He didn't know that he was talking out loud again. "DREAM, PLEASE CALM DOWN. I AM SURE INK WOULD BE BACK SOMEDAY." Dream flinched, not noticing that Blue was walking towards him.

"Blue! You scared me for a second! Gosh, don't sneak up on me!" Dream said as his hand hover where his soul would be. "But.. speaking of Ink. How can we be sure he would return? It has been a week! He usually returns a day after his usual vanishing time to time. But now? It has been days, Blue!" Dream stated his concern.

"I KNOW DREAM BUT PLEASE CALM DOWN. INK IS STRONGER THAN YOU THINK! HE CAN HANDLE HIMSELF... WHEREVER HE IS." Blue tried to comfort Dream but it sounded like he is trying to convince himself instead. "Sigh.. no point in worrying." Dream sighed heavily.

[Few hours later on a certain castle]

"Y€@h n0. D1dN't $@w h1M t0D@y £1tH€r." Error was gritting his teeth. He was furious on Ink suddenly vanishing and these new unstable aus started appearing.

"Ugh where could he be..." Killer was annoyed too. In fact, it seems all of them are. "For fucks sake, I swear, he is just making things worse every time!" Dust grumbled under his breath. Horror just growled, showing his displeased and annoyance at Ink.

"Did You See His Code Already?" Nightmare asks Error, who stayed silent as he doesn't have a positive answer to that.

They usually don't care if Ink is gone or not. But currently, more and more questionable things is happening. Definitely worth to question why is Fate so aggressive to Error these past few days. Even the voices are so much noisier.

Nightmare was about to say something until Error eye sockets' widen, relief and anger can be seen in his pinpricks. "FV<K1N6 F1N@//Y!" Error suddenly shouted. He immediately opened up a portal to the au where Ink is. Just in time to see him standing in-front of a closing portal. Not his normal inky portal.

[Few minutes ago with Ink]

"Okay.. I know I should rest and spend time with you guys but... I really REALLY need to do my job. You know how it gets to delays and such. You guys... understand, right?.." Ink was hesitant on what he is doing, fearing they wouldn't like him anymore. But the strings that tighten his body said otherwise.

"No! I Understand Ink! You Job Is One Of The Important Jobs In The Whole Multiverse! And Such Delays Would Cause Chaos and Mayhem. But I Have To Ask... Are You Feeling Better Now?" Puff was frowning a bit.

"Yes, I am. Thanks guys. This is such a nice temporary vacation for me. I felt so relax after working nonstop for.. uhh weeks? Months? Years? Gah! So forgetful!" Ink pouts, still trying to think when did he fully rest other than this week.

Puff and Life was now looking worried which made Ink's sweat dropped. "U-uh.. d-don't mind my rambling. Haha.. uhm, I. Uhm. T-thank you guys. Really! This is very memorable for me!" Ink smiles genuinely at them.

"No worries, Ink. Remember, you can visit us anytime. And please do rest! Come to me when you need healing. Don't feel like you are a burden to us cause you are NOT!" Life kept reminding Ink. Reminders for him to not hesitate to visit them if he have time.

Ink laughs lightly. Life is truly like a real mom to him. "Of course, Life. I would try to visit as much as I can. But thinking of how many days I didn't work, I would guess I would be very busy." Ink said sadly.

"Of course..." Life replied sadly, knowing that Ink would be busy but it was worth a try to ask. "Anyways dear, be careful out there okay?" Life reminded him while opening a portal of a random au.

"I will. Love you guys." Ink smiled at them, thanking them once again once he stepped in the portal.

God.. if he could chose a family, he would not second guess and immediately pick Puff and Life.

'What if they are just acting nice towards me as I am the Protector of AUs after all. What if they are talking something bad behind my back? What if they betray me? N-no! I... I got to have some faith on them.'

As the portal was closing, another portal opened up a few meters away from him.

Ink stiffened, eye lights flashing rapidly. On instinct, he immediately went on defensive stand. Error was looking at Ink, seething. Wanting to ask Ink what the hell is his problem and why is he making those glitched aus.
