The tires of the bus were moving slowly, I noticed that we were taking another way to the city center, not the one we took to come here.
I was casually looking through the window, appreciating the nature, the greenery, the freshness and the sun was almost setting, slowly, with the stars beginning to show themselves one by one.
It somehow felt magical, I had never been to such a place. I did feel like a young kid being introduced to something that sparks their interest, all sparkly-eyes expression.
"Having fun?" Joey asks in a softish voice.
"Yeah." I just can't seem to get my eyes off of the road.
He chuckles and begins to talk with the others while I observe the outside of the bus in silence. It felt peaceful, like the happy ending of an adventurous movie, where they end up saying Let's go home now, as their car fades away on the road on a sunset background.
Also I felt so comfortable, having Joey next to me, I felt like in the 9th cloud.
15 minutes go by like this and the bus stops, we arrived at the city center.
"Okay guys, let's get out of the bus one by one and remain close to each other." Liam says as he progressed to point with both of his hands at the door.
One by one we slowly start to get out of the bus.
Since we were in the back side of the bus, it would take some time till we'd get the chance to exit the bus, we were quite a lot of people.
And so, we exited the bus, and we were all waiting for something to happen as we were standing on this street.
"Stay near me Tim." Joey utters while gesturing me to follow him.
"Mhm." I responded as I followed him on his footsteps.
We came up front to the counselors, as they were counting each one of us, and we were all there, none of us was missing, thankfully.
"Okay, so, now, you guys will be divided within your groups with your assigned counselors. You have time until 10:00 PM to hang out and enjoy the amazing city center of ours! It's quite big so don't get lost!" Liam sarcastically laughs as we stare at him.
Once again, all my hopes we're crushed, me and Joey would be departing, once again. I thought this was one of the chances to spend even more time, out of the camp, maybe get to know each other more personally. But, that wasn't in the plans I guess.
"Seems like this is goodbye." I jokingly said.
"For now!" He said.
"We can catch up later, and we'll talk about how our nights went." He added more into his sentences.
"Yeah, I guess so." I agreed with him.
He high-fives me, turns around and goes to his group and his assigned counselors.
I walk up to my counselors, and they noticed my frown in my face.
"Is anything wrong Tim?" Liam asks.
"Nope! Everything is alright." I brighten my attitude, and they bought it, somewhat.
"Alright, now let's begin our walk if everyone is ready." He said, proud and all.
We calmly began our walk on one of the directions of the center. And I think we got the best side of the center.
It was full of blistering lights and tall buildings, shops everywhere and even some street foods stamps here and there.
"This place is so cool!" Anais said.
"I know right! It's so big and there's a lot of people here." Eleanor said.
