"Alright now, we are going to proceed with the main activity, so gather around your assigned counselors and proceed to follow them accordingly."
I was still captivated by the feeling of regret. But I still went along, because I had to.
We proceeded to follow our counselors Ryan and Nate outside of the main hall. We were following them to a trail along the woods, slowly we reached the place where we were revealed to a small and silent park, enough for all of us in this activity.
"Okay, now let's form a circle so everyone can see one another and we'll briefly explain the activity so you'll get a better understanding of it." We all nodded in silence as we sat down on the ground.
I sat near Dia and another girl sat on the other side of mine.
We were patiently waiting for something to break the silence, since it had been one or two minutes since we had sat down and we were getting tired already.
Ryan took a deep breath and let it out, we took it as a silence-breaker.
"First of all, I want to welcome all of you who are part of this activity, Resilience and Power. We are very grateful that you chose this activity aside the others and we're happy that you are in here." Most of us were side-eyeing.
"Has anyone ever heard of the word, Resilience?" Ryan asked.
I think none of us heard of it before since none of us were raising a hand or giving it a go to say a remotely close definition to the said word.
"Alright." Ryan said, while I noticed the awkward atmosphere that we created.
I felt bad about it, but I didn't know what resilience meant in all honesty.
"Basically, Resilience refers to the ability of recovering from tough, difficult and complex situations."
I was wondering what would we do in this activity. Since I thought the others would have more fun than us.
"Has anyone been in a difficult situation before that would feel comfortable to share with the others?" Ryan politely asks.
Another girl raises her hand slowly.
"Yes, Brianna."
"Thank you.
So, when I was younger, I was really sick, I had some unknown sickness that even the doctors couldn't figure out what it was and I was really scared that something might happen to me sooner or later." Her voice begins to tremble.
"And it was a hard time for both me and my family, but thankfully I got recovered somehow and here I am all well." She smiles.
We were all feeling empathic towards her, she was strong for overcoming something that even she didn't know what that exactly was.
"That's such a powerful story." Ryan said.
"You've come a long way from that sickness and you're here blossoming." He adds.
Brianna becomes shy from the compliment of Ryan.
"Anyone else would like to share an experience?" I was being hesitant, I didn't want to say anything because I didn't want others to know what had previously happened to me.
This time, one of the guys raised his hand.
"Yes Galen."
It was the first time I heard him speak, he wasn't in my group or with the people I usually hanged out with so it was interesting to see more new people even after two-three days at the camp had passed.
