"What about a trip in the London Eye?' Niall said, but we all shook our heads. We were sitting around in Harry's flat trying to work out the perfect 'date' if you wanted to call it that, for our time with Veronica. Needless to say after five hours, we were still without any ideas.
'She will have already been on the London Eye, Niall. She lives in London. In fact, I bet she was one of the first to go on it,' Zayn said, stretching and then becoming camp, 'Daddy, get me on the London Eye immediately or I'll scream the place down!' he said in an impression of Veronica. We had Googled her name to death, and while Harry had been happy because she was quite hot, the rest of us were dreading it. Rude, obnoxious, bad mannered, snarky...the whole lot of it. How were we expected to spend an entire day with this girl was beyond me. We were singers, not actors. I didn’t know how to pretend to be nice to someone who clearly didn’t deserve it.
'Then guys I am all out of ideas.'
'Maybe we could just show her something about London that we all love? Something no other fan knows. If she really is a fan then she will appreciate that, won't she?' Liam piped up from the arm chair, and we all stared at him in amazement.
'Liam, you are a genius! That is perfect, show her a side to us that no one has seen before. No, Harry you cannot take her to your favourite strip club,' I said before Harry could interrupt. Judging by the look on his face, I had guessed correctly. I chuckled at how well I knew my best friend before turning back to the rest of the band.
'So if we all just think up something that is unique to us, like a favourite club or place in London, then we can take her there. Should we do it as a group or separately?' Niall asked, grabbing some food off the coffee table.
'I think we should have a meal as a group, but then maybe do our own thing separately?' Harry said, and for once the boy made sense.
'That way we won't have to all spend a whole night with her, but she gets to spend a whole night with us! Brilliant, it’s a flawless plan,' I stated, and the guys nodded in agreement. We had all been slightly horrified when we had read up on Lady Veronica. Sure, Lady by name, but definitely not by nature. To sum her up, she was a spoilt British brat who always got her own way.
Part of me wanted to knock her down a few pegs, teach her a lesson that not everything is given to you, when you ask. But then, I should probably give her the benefit of the doubt, as the newspapers always spun things to make it look worse than it was. I was all too aware of that. Some people thought we took what we had for granted, when in fact they couldn't be further from the truth. Maybe it was exactly the same for Veronica.
But I wasn’t going to be sure of anything until we actually met the girl in a weeks’ time.
‘I want you boys to be nice to her,’ Will had said, a stern look on his face, but there was only so much we could take. We may be One Direction, but we were still only human.
‘Great. What are we going to do now?’ Zayn said, bringing me back to the present.
‘I’m going to head home guys; I said to mum that I would give her a ring and check up on the family. I haven’t spoken to Phebes and Daisy for a while; it’d be nice to hear their voices,’ I said, standing up and stretching, pulling my hoodie on and slipping my toms onto my feet.
‘Well, I’m glad we’ve finally come up with an idea for this disaster date,’ Niall said, smiling and standing up as well, ‘can I hitch a lift home with you Lou?’ I nodded and he grinned at me. He was always smiling; he was the happiest guy I knew. We said our goodbyes and headed out into the darkness, the only light coming from the street lamps dotted down the street.
